Lunch or dinner (we did both) are wonderful in this smallish, friendly brasserie. The best escargot I've ever eaten - and I've downed them snails everywhere! The service is kind, the food is typically Lyonnaise - be brave and order something unusual. Highly recommended.

Menu chenged according season, typical french cousine prepared in excellent way. Service fast-moving and kind. In my opinion it's impossible to be disappointed or to get a bad experience after visiting Le Nord: this brasserie can be recommended without any risk! Prices are OK considering quality of food and preparation efforts.

Amazing food! I have eaten here many times, and it is always very nice food. Correct and gentle service. The steak is amazing but what is the absolute best of it all, it is the queen of dessert, the crème brûlée!!! It was fluffy and tasted like heaven! It is almost to much to have a 3 course meal here.... More

I had a lunch menu in December. I lived in Lyon for 10 years and I was very happy to have a lunch back in Le Nord. It is a typical French - lyonnais ambiance. The service is great but might be a bit slow in the rush time. Better book. Food is typical, good quality products.

This is your classic French/Lyonnaise brasserie. White tablecloths, well lit, fast moving attentive staff, and the food was excellent. We both ordered the Poulet de Bresse served along side a Rully and were not disappointed with either. We visited during the French school holidays and there were several families out to dinner, along side some locals. The fairly large brasserie... More

Having been extremely disappointed with the Le Laurencin bouchon (see my separate review), and the Le Musee restaurant having been fully booked, my family and I were desperate to redeem our lackluster experience with food in the so-called gastronomic capital of France. It was our last night in Lyon, and we were returning to the Netherlands after 10 days traveling... More

This is clearly a tourist place. But it's also one of the only places open on a Sunday night in the charming part of the city. Food was all good, large portions, good service, and the prices were reasonable. They had very traditional Lyon food.. which was why we went there. The Food presentation was way too simple, it almost... More

We chose this because of the local specialities. Three of the group of four were very pleased with their choices. We drank Rully red and white wine which was excellent. The quenelles of pike with lobster sauce, the veal escalope , the lieu were delicious as were the local salads and pate en croute. The salmon main course was very... More

I had seen the Bresse chicken at the Bocuse market. I had a chef explain the Bresse chicken is kept in the dark before killed that makes the meat special. I had looked forward to dining at Le Nord, having enjoyed Le Sud years ago. The Bresse chicken was tough and disappointing. the vinegar sauce with mashed potatoes were good... More

Went with my wife to Brasserie le Nord with high expectations based on reviews on Tripadvisor and guides. Luckily we got a table on Saturday night without a booking. However, that was the highlight of the evening. The food was average as well as the dining experience. My wife ordered the onion soup but it never came. When we asked... More
