Follow the signs off the red run home and find yourself on a wee helter skelter to this charming and rustic mountain caff. It's a cheese-based affair and although the Welsh Rarebit is £10 it is delicious and served with the sweetest pickled onion. Next time I'd try on of the Gratin dishes. They look scrummy.

Take my advice.. you cannot leave this area without having a dinner here and ordering the fondue. There are various ones to choose from ie: just cheese, cheese with cooked meat, cheese with meat that you can cook for yourself etc. I will tell you that you must go with a healthy appetite because the amount they serve will definitely... Would recommend to all, A really good example of in the mountain eating experience but not too far away. Good french fayre. Though vegans may struggle as there is a lot a cheese, but do a great salad too.

Good food, lovely position, fair prices, and very kind hosts make this place a very good destination. Add to this that you can reach it either on foot in 15 minutes from argentiere or by car. it is great.

You must make reservations as the place is always full! In the winter you can get by ski there when coming down from Lognan to Argentière. Known for the local cheese dishes but I usually eat the croute au fromage au morilles - excellent. They also have a super tarte au citron for desert if you are still hungry.

Best Fondue Savoyard not only in Chamonix Valley but from anywhere i have tried in the Haute Savoie. Something that appears to be so simple is so much better than everywhere else! Incredible! I love the Fondue Alpage with supplement chanterelles - delicious!
