Every year on a ski trip I make sure that I eat here at least once. Very typical French menu and half way up a mountain valley. The son has now fully taken over from his father as the chef but the overall style has remained true to its roots but with a modern twist. Too many lovely dishes to... More

Got Le Chaudron recommended from several people. Started bad- despite having a reservation we got the bar desk table squeezed into a corner just by the entrance. Starters were good as well as my tuna, biggest issue was the sea bass my friend ordered. It tasted and smelled bad (I tried it as well). She sent it back and asked... More

The Chaudron is a very reliable and consistent restaurant. The menu is an Italian and French mix of high quality ingredients dishes with good value wine list. The service is very friendly. It's very often full during the high season don't forget to make a reservation.

We went in a group and were told we couldn't order what we wanted. If you're going to take a group booking I would suggest explaining that you would have a limited menu. In the end we ordered steaks and were served flavourless pieces of fat for €33. If you want good food in Cham then go next door to... More

After an absence of a few years we re-visited Le Chaudron. It is back to how I remember it some years ago. Madame appears to have retired and the rumour is that her son now runs the restaurant. We - a party of 6 - had an excellent meal with all sorts of allergies and requirements catered for. There is... More

You can tell this is a restaurant where the owners really care. A real husband & wife team. A couple who clearly love what they do, as do the team working with them. Varied menu of local specialities plus Italian inspired dishes & use of fresh local produce. Think the bread - also delicious, came straight from the oven. Small... More

Went there last year as it was so good and this time it was even better. The 38 euro menu was sensational. I will have to go and have it again. A real highlight of the trip to chamonix.

The red tuna is outstanding, highly recommend. The restaurant has a very calm, intimate atmosphere that is enhanced by its rural decor.

The food was delicious. Interesting, exciting and very, very tasty. The beef cooked over the woodfire was incredible. Wonderful seared tuna. The prices were typical for most Chamonix restaurants, and a bargain for the quality. And this was the best place for reasonably priced wine we found.

We visited Le Chaudron after a day at the slopes and all thought our food was amazing. From escargot to tuna, lamb and onglet, it was incredibly tasty. A great find in Chamonix.
