We had great difficulty finding a decent restaurant in Salon, but eventually got to L'estive. The staff were very welcoming and the ambiance good and friendly. The menu was quite limited and very regional; it was well prepared and served and quite tasty. Check the menu first to see if it suits your pallet. Overall I would well recommend this... More

Three years after I first stepped into this jewel of a restaurant I am still amazed by the consistency. The dishes are always made from fresh ingredients and from local, traditional recipes. The service is very professional and friendly. Valerie and Fred manage to meet high expectations which they have set from the get go. Try the very well-priced wine... More

We were a group of 13 but the restaurant managed to serve us with timely, excellent quality food and drinks even though they had a local large singing event in the restaurant. Well done

Visited this place for dinner on a Thursday night arriving at 8:15 to an empty dining room. Uh oh! Not to fear. Half an hour later there were 20+ diners and judging from the conversation many of them locals/regulars. The waiter spoke decent English and explained the few things on the french menu I did not recognize. We opted for... More

This is a restaurant for aficionados, for pros of real authentic, local food where quality of the ingredients is primordial. It is also Salon's best locale to accommodate a palate accustomed to tasty morsels.. be that morsels of foie gras, pied/paquet or other local delicacies. The chef and his wife along with her staff are wonderful folks bringing back a... More

Had the 21€ fixed price lunch. Nearly everything was vegetarian. Main course which I had was spinach in a cream sauce. It scarcely touched my appetite. The more expensive wines were pushed, and the one we took was only passable. Having been to this restaurant, we tried another Salon restaurant, and this was not much better. Clearly owners are only... More

Although this restaurant is a little out of town it is well worth finding. The address is 192 Allees de Craponne, 13330 Salon de Provence. We ate there both nights we were in Provence and had two wonderful meals at very reasonable prices - as prices go in France. Mr Hintzy is the chef and his wife runs the front of... More

Tried €19 fixed four course menu first night , limited choice(main course) but good value french cooking.
