As the name suggests the cuisine is based around the various cheeses of the region. The food was very tasty (as long as you like cheese), if a little heavy in some cases. I had serious trouble to finish mine. The staff are knowledgable about the food and wine. They also have a good sense of humour. The setting, which... More

The dinner we had here was great (as long as you love cheese)! We had the fondue and fois gras started. The bread was fresh, the atmosphere was great and the service was fun and on point. The server recommended a white wine (my husband usually only drinks red) and it was a great recommendation, we really enjoyed the wine... More

My German friend was impressed by the setting as it is in a lovely old basement with hardly any light. Food was very flavoursome and it contained a lot of cheese and even a whole melted camembert so it was a bit on the heavy side. You should definitely go if you love cheese and avoid it if you are... If you love cheese then this is the place for you. We have been here on two occasions, once in summer and the other in mid winter and have enjoyed it both times. Food is well prepared and the wine list is eclectic but very good with a number of bio wines available. The setting is very romantic so best... More

Loved the fondue and aged pancetta. The waiter was really friendly and helpful with choosing a wine. The wine was also completely organic with no nitrates and had a lovely palate. The atmosphere was also great, it had a cave like, cosy feel.

We made a reservation a Le Bistro du Fromager, arrived on time and were seated promptly. Unfortunately we were seated in a tiny alcove under a huge pipe that ran across the room, there were other seats open in another room but we didn't have a chance to ask as the man who seated us disappeared for a very long... We used to visit this restaurant frequently some years ago and we found it very good with nice food, charming celler and an enthusiastic staff. When we now visited the place again the food was still very nice, the celler was still charming but the enthusiasm seemed to have been changed to efficiency by two sittings during the evening and...
