I’ve been here 5 times over the past two weeks and each time had a different experience. The bar itself is in a great, lively street and has a lot of outdoor seating on both sides of the road. The atmosphere has always been consistently...great - the music plays loud and groups of friends sing and dance along.
The small number of staff working these tables do an incredible job. Despite being so busy they were very friendly and maintained great service throughout.
The drinks... I had two days with excellent cocktails. Negroni, Moscow Mule, St Germain Cucumber. Then Friday and Saturday when it was busy the quality went from a 5 to a 3 due to inconsistencies and missing ingredients.
When I asked the manager to rectify an incorrect drink, rather than tasting it he became incredibly defensive and aggressive. He generally adds a negative atmosphere to the place and treats the staff horribly. One night a waiter shouted across the bar to tell the manager to stop talking to him like a pig...
All in all, I recommend. Just beware of the boss.More
CCE Burger is on the main restaurant / bar area of Rue Bonaparte, off Garibaldi Square, and is great fun for people watching in the evening. It's got lots of charm and the outdoor cocktail (high) tables are great. Service is ok; a bit slow...but polite. The best feature of dinner was the fresh bread. The burger was much better than average for France, and the smoked salmon salad was fresh and enough for four people. The vin verre rouge was terrific.More
Really great meals and very good and attentive service. We had Tagliata and Lamb Shank. Both were done really well and we very happy with them. However, I did not like getting getting up sold a bottle of Evian
The Mojito was pretty disappointing, we told the waiter but he didn’t care, we bought few drink but when we asked for just a bottle of tap water they served us half glass per person.
I’m living here but will never come back to this...place!More
Great bar on the vibrant Rue Bonaparte. Gets busy so go early or reserve if you want a table outside. Usual array of alcoholic drinks. Serves food but didn’t eat there. Staff were friendly and cheery. Fairly standard Nice prices, i.e. not particularly cheap.
I love this place.
The staff are great and the service is great, too.
We have only had drinks here but it is a must during your stay in Nice.
Set in an excellent location, just off Place Garibaldi, it is well worth a visit.
Very crowded place so book a table if you want to sit outside. Service was rather slow. We got a lot of food and it tasted good. The waitor did however not remember to deduct the discount we had from ”The Fork” from the bill.
Visited a couple of times during a week's stay nearby. Busy 'terrasse', popular restaurant. Boards of charcuterie and cheeses seemed popular. Our evening meals were good and desserts especially so. Pleasant and efficient staff, bar staff especially so. Prices for food and drink rather above...average for area.
