Found this after checking trip advisor and not disappointed. The simple things done well and great to be able to buy good wine by the glass and small bottles. Relaxed atmosphere with good food and good wine.

Travelling with friends, we spotted this wine bar/restaurant with Provencale Cuisine on our arrival in Avignon, while parking our car opposite to check into our apartment situated on the pedestrian street Rue Vielle Poste. We made a note to visit one night, if for no other reason than the convenience and it was buzzing and looked welcoming. The name signage... More

This place is a true gem...the locals enjoy it - that should tell you something! The owner/maitre'd (Nicolas) is 'hands on' and very engaging. The menu is in french, but Nicolas speaks perfect english and loves to describe the dishes. His descriptions are spot on! The food is fresh with generous portions and phenomenal flavor/taste! I have to recommend the... More

I think it was Trip Advisor reviewers who sent me hunting for this restaurant as a lunch-time venue. It lived up to the excellent recommendations. The Risotto St Jacques was a perfect dish for a cold day in Avignon. I was a little surprised by the mushrooms and peas as part of a seafood dish, but this just meant that... More

With tripadvisor I found that restaurant right around the corner of my hotel. I was the only guest at 9:30 pm and what amazed me was that the waitress did not speak English. It was great as I finally felt as being in France :-) The menu was in French only as well. So do not forget your translator. I... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant, now called restaurant 46, on my walk back to Place L'Horloge from the Pont D'Avignon. It looked very clean, recently renovated and inviting so I stopped for lunch. I had a vegetable salad with excellent ham and was not disappointed. The service was friendly and prompt. The washroom appeared newly renovated and pristine. It is... More

Now run as Restaurant 46. We ate lunch there yesterday and had a very pleasant meal. Small menu, expertly prepared and well presented. My wife, daughter and I spent a nice time at table, never felt rushed, never felt the tourist push. We will be back... soon!
