We ate here and were a bit disappointed, given that it was recommended by our hotelier. Note that we were here on Easter Sunday, and during the Feria, so it is possible the sheer volume of business resulted in food that, given other reviews, was not up to par. I had the escargot, fish stew, and nougat ice cream from... More

We visited L'Escaladou on the last night of an out of season quick break to Arles in mid March. It was what I had been looking for proper Provencal cooking. The fish soup I had for a starter could have been a main course & my lamb main was fantastic. The bill was excellent value for money and when we... More

We walked by this gem at first, but returned after reading all the menus on this small street and chose this restaurant based on their Provençal selection. From the outside it looked as if no one was in the place, but once inside the number of locals with their families gave us the feeling that we would be well taken... More

This is a family run and family friendly restaurant 2 minutes from the amphitheatre in the centre of Arles. The menu is locally inspired and locally sourced and we had a lovely meal at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended and I'm sure it gets packed in summer.

This cozy place was recommended by our hotel in Arles. It seemed like it was popular with locals. The food was fabulous, including local specialties like "feet boat to Marseille" which includes a lamb foot and tripe (tasted much better than it might sound). One of the best restaurants on our trip through France.

Walked in from the pedestrian walking area and had an excellent dinner. The fish soup was delicious, unlike anything I've had before - smooth, dark hued and very flavorful. I would have been happy ordering a second bowl and calling it a night. I don't recall exactly what I had for a main course, it was listed on the blackboard,... More

We found this restaurant by luck on a Sunday evening when most restaurants in Arles are closed. It is a small restaurant that seemed to be operated by a mother/daughter team who specialize in local dishes. I ordered the soupe de poisson which was rich and delicious, one of the best I've ever had, with an amazing rouille. My husband... More

We ended up here after searching a restaurant for dinner without booking. Lucky, we were early so we could have a table. Very good surprise, we thought it would be a little touristy, but the food was actually very nice.

We had a wonderful lunch last week. It was a cold day and we were looking for inside dining. The dining room was very welcoming as was the owner. My husband had a specialty of the house " bull stew". It was slow cooked bull meat in a very rich and delicious sauce, servec with rice and vegetables. I had... More

Eating out in the evening in France can be a bit anxious-making for travellers as they focus so much on lunch, and you have to watch when they close - earlier than convenient in many many cases. Even in a touristy city, finding a place which appeals, in your budget range, can be tricky. We chose this bistro in a... More
