We were always curious about this restaurant but never went there, our mistake! The food was a treat , especially the St. Jacques. We had the 6 course menu, which was a lot but well balanced. The wines they advised to go with the dishes...paired very well. On entry we received a very warm welcome and although it was a full house the service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the tables are comfortable. Do certainly recommend this restaurant.More

We had an excellent lunch at this very-very good restaurant. When preparing for the trip we came across this place and decided to give it a try, but we didn't expect it to be so good because Honfleur is so touristy. The lunch was really...good: the service was very friendly and helpful, food was very fresh, tasty, suggested wines were very good as well. In our opinion all dishes we had were well executed and beuatifully presented. They have several menu choices from which you can choose. It was a very good choice. Place is not cheap, but in Honfleur you can get very bad meal for more money - so we think this place worth it.More

Le Breard was recommended to us by friends in Australia and we were certainly not disappointed! The food was Excellent! I enjoyed the fact the menu was not too extensive the menu we chose was perfect from start to finish. The extra touches like the...appetiser, the fresh loaf of bread the cheese before dessert were all perfect additions. The wine list was extensive. I will certainly also be recommending.More

Very disappointed ! We knew the place where we have dined several times before. We did not recognize the place, on the plate ! Cooking were approximate, serving was long and not very friendly…well not a good experience but with a serious bill (500€ /...4 attendees).More

The food was good, but nothing extraordinare. They gave me the wrong wine for the maincourse, and forgot my wine for the dessert. Bad acoustics in combination with waiters speaking with a very low voice made it difficult to understand what I was eating.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The courses are a delight and the amuse bouche (3!) an unexpected pleasure. This is real value for money in view of the high quality of ingredients. The wine list is interesting and not overly expensive for the wines...on offer We would certainly return if we were back in HonfleurMore

Had dinner here , busy place rewarded with a Bibd Gourmand for "good price /quality" . Food is not overly complicated amuses were fine however the gazpacho of cucumber much too simple and boring. The "BBQ" salmon as starter was totally tasteless and definitely not...worth a visit. The "piece de boeuf"was good but nothing to surprise although the potatoe foam with truffle taste was pleasant. Desserts were ok however the chocolate dessert misses a biscuit of any form. As an indication : 3 courses 40 Euros, 4 courses 58 Euros. The wines are very expensive , in many 1 star restaurants you pay at least 10 Euros less for a bottle and the prices of the soft drinks are scandalous! Also we found the service very "superficial" Happy that we are fluent in French as English is relatively poor. The Indian waiter was an exception on this caring and friendly!More

Having seen the rave reviews for Le Breard, which indeed drew us to the restaurant in the first place, I feel very reluctant to go against the trend and say we were very disappointed with our Breard experience but disappointed we were. Yes, the service...was impeccable but very stern and aloof. (I assume that's their deliberate style, intent on remaining as inconspicuous as possible.) We prefer a more human touch. Our problem, not theirs. The main problem was the food. We opted for the 'Sensation' menu: 4 courses for 58€ each. The first course was salmon, supposedly seared on the bbq. It was actually a slither of mostly raw salmon with a garnish of samphire. It was nearly completely tasteless. It would have benefitted from a drizzle of sauce but, quite honestly, eating raw fish wouldn't have been much easier even if it had tasted of something. The main course was pieces of duck, served too bloody for our English liking. It was served with a teaspoonful of runny mashed potato and an overwhelming amount of sliced, cooked apple. The apple overpowered any taste the duck might otherwise have had. It was a real struggle to eat it. In our opinion, duck and apple just don't go! The third course was 4 small pieces of cheese, all pretty mild and accompanied by, wait for it, a large pile of plain stewed apple and a smaller pile of tiny cubes of stewed apple mixed with whole grain mustard. We yearned for a picant chutney! The fourth course for me was a very hot, runny mousse with a spoonful of cold chocolate sauce, referred to as ice cream. My companion had something with chocolate and coffee in it, which he enjoyed. As for drinks: Upon arrival I asked for a glass of Prosecco, whereupon I was told (probably whilst holding back the disdain) they only served Champagne! I ordered a glass. It wasn't very bubbly so I assume the bottle had been open a while. My companion chose an aniseed-type drink. He then had 3 glasses of wine. Altogether the bill amounted to about 170€. A lot of money for a disappointing birthday surprise occasion.More

Trip Advisor used to ask "was this one of your best ever meals". I have answered yes to that question 3 times and now its 4. Not only is the food exceptional, but the value is quite frankly unbelievable and the service stunning. We had...the €40 menu. First an amuse bouche of mushroom ravioli in the most delicious sesame broth. Then Rick started with oysters and pear, salmon with seaweed for me, delicate and tasty. For main I had beef, mash, gravy absolutely wonderful and Ricks fish with a pea and pomme sauce was stunning. Then 4 great cheeses, the pont l'eveque was particularly tasty. Finished with a passion fruit souffle, light and full of tang. How do they do that for €40 a head? Brilliant.More
