This restaurant serves Norman classics and was very worth the food coma I was in afterward. The portion sizes are large, the food fresh, and the staff was so attentive, speaking both French and English. They are not fluent, but between my college French and their broken English, we got all we asked for and more. The apple tart, a... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant while staying at the Hotel Reine Mathilde and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Bayeux. The Prix Fixe menu is the perfect way to sample a few courses of typical Normandy cuisine. The staff is friendly and welcoming and we have already recommended it to friends and family. We would come... More

Wonderful dinner, we ordered from the prix fixe menu, and were not disappointed. I got the filet, much better choice as far as cuts of meat. Service was excellent, English is spoken, if that's important to you, we had a great waiter, very polite and accommodating. Restaurant is directly across from the Cathedral, beautifully lit at night. Highly recommended and... More

My friend and I had a lovely dinner here. I had the cheaper set menu and she had the more expensive set menu, and both were incredibly delicious. The staff were helpful and attentive, and the chef came out of the kitchen to say goodbye at the end of the evening. This was a great value dinner that we enjoyed... More

We enjoyed our evening meal very much at this little place. We arrived early one evening and realised the need for reservations. We made them for the following evening and were pleased. We were very pleased with the local fare and the kitchen did not disappoint. This is our number one recommendation in Bayeux and we look forward to our... More

We ate here while on a short break in Bayeux two years ago, and this time there was no question about going again. We were not disappointed; the staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is wonderful and very good value. As others have said, it fills up quickly so get there in good time.

Le Petit Normand is a delightful small restaurant across the street from the Bayeux Cathedral. The cuisine is traditional Normandy food. I had a delicious pork dish and later apple flan. The cooking is solid and, as I imagine, is the very best of local home cooking.

This is a great little restaurant, specializing in locally sourced food cooked in classical French recipes. The service is friendly. Many locals eat there. We ate there twice and both times it was outstanding.

Six of us went to see the Bayeux Tapestry, arrived at 12.15pm, and found it closes for lunch between 12-2! Walked towards the cathedral, turned right and found Le Petit Normand. Very welcoming and no problems or fuss seating us. Menus had an English translation and we chose the €17 fixed menu. I had the salade paysanne with confit pork... More

Quaint, cozy, owner run restaurant. Seats about 20. Recommended by our tour guide, we were not disappointed.
