Ate here the 1st night in Lille as it was already 10.30pm and nowhere else was still serving food. The food was excellent and the service fantastic, we had a small corner tables and we couln't have been more impressed so we went back for a 2nd night. HUGE MISTAKE. It was overcrowded to the point that we were constantly... More

Walking around Lille on my own in the evening I gravitated to the restaurant with the most number of free tables that looked attractive. This place is close to the grand place at the centre of vieux Lille. The €13.90 menu looked good so I sat down in the covered outdoor area under one of the heaters with a beer... More

A very well-known 24 hours-a-day opened restaurant but... cooking is not so good... some waiters are cool others are boring and seem to be bored also... a good tourist trap :)

Superb terrine, steak frites and mousse au chocolat, all served with a smile. Lovely brasserie, at reasonable prices.

12:45 All restaurants full of course. By chance we noticed an empty table. We were not very hungry so ordered some dishes we thought would be light. So we ordered a cheese platter for 9 euro, the foie gras canard and a kind of quiche with cheese. The cheese platter alone with the bread would be enough for the 3... More

We ran out of time for lunch, missing the strict 12 till 2 slot universally recognised by the vast majority of restaurants in Lille, but a young waiter in a place that was closing took pity on us and gave us directions to this place. We weren't too sure on sight, because it looks like a 'Tourist Place', but it's... More

My son and I sat upstairs in the restaurant and we didn't understand the menu so the waitress kindly helped us and gave us the English menus . Had a steak which I asked for medium and was more like rare But in France so perhaps I should of incured the stare of the waitress and asked for well done... More

We wandered out for dinner last weekend after our hotel was full, and took this side street filled with restaurants off Place Rihour and the Grand Place of Lille. it looked really inviting with tables outside under heat lamps, shielded from the chilly winds of November, so we were delighted to get an outdoor table from the friendly staff. The... More

Visited this restaurant after recently moving to Lille as we had heard it was a good place to try out the traditional dishes of northern France, this time I opted for Welsh royal which is toasted bread and bacon covered in (a tonne of) cheese then topped with a local sausage and a fried egg. It's great comfort food and... More

Finding the Hotel Mercure's breakfast rather expensive (17.50 Euros!) we decided to explore cafés near the Grande Place & found La Chicorée. Great value continental breakfast at 6.50 Euros for hot drink, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh baguettes (as much as you could eat) plus three mini patisseries (croissant, pain au chocolat & pain au raisin) with good quality &... Description
This almost a century brewery is known and appreciated far beyond our borders. His cuisine is drawn from the soil of our region, its products and its authenticity. Warmly welcomed in a setting of "authentic brasserie", you can enjoy typical regional dishes. It is likely that the wide range of choice from the menu invites you to extend your enjoyment.

Because chicory is the restaurant where we forget the time, day and night. The atmosphere is friendly and festive. This is the place of choice for many artists visiting Lille to come eat and have a good time after the concerts.

Chicory is also a south facing terrace in the heart of Lille. This is a brewery on 3 floors where the smells and atmospheres blend, where eyes meet. It is a mecca for nightlife Lille.
