The restaurant was attractive. The menu was interesting and varied. The food was delicious. The service was quite good although the wine waiter was a bit over attentive. Ask for a seat by the window to get the best views.

The food was exactly what we were looking for in french cuisine using local ingredients. The service was wonderful and helpful with our subpar french language. The view was lovely. This is wildly above any standard hotel restaurant and likely the best food in the town! Definitely get the duck steak and the cheesecake.

The food here is really just plain cuisine done reasonably well. Our mains were lamb and beef. My lamb roast dish was fine and after a big day quite satisfying but really not as good as my wife's roast Sunday lamb at home. It was tender but a little stringy. The accompanying vegetables were extensive and pretty good. My wife's... More

The plat du jour was cassoulet when we ate there for lunch. We were seated are a window with a remarkable view of the valley below Rocamadour. Service was impeccable and came with the embellishments one expects at a good restaurant. The cassoulet had a large duck leg and a generous portion of sausage. It carried a smoky flavor that... Wonderful view, great service, great food and incredibly good value for money. This is really not typical of restaurants in such a touristy town. They are in a fabulous location and restaurants with such an advantage usually dumb down their offering accordingly. Not the case here, ten out of ten for effort and delivery.

We had a very good dinner but service should step up for matching the level of the cuisine. We took the leg of lamb. Properly cooked, well seasoned but it arrived lukewarm because plates were not hot. Also, waiters started cleaning up for the end of the service, making some noise, while we were still eating. More attention would not... More

We picked Jehan de Valon because it was rated #1 in TA and we weren't disappointed with the food, the ambience, the view or the service. We had reservations for 7:30pm, which might be their earliest dinner seating, but we arrived 15 minutes early while they were finishing their set-up. Nevertheless they were happy to seat us and deliver menus... More

The service was not as good as the food. A little slow. Excellent the chef's suggestions: Declination of fries and the truffled eggs were really interesting. Obviously you need to try the Rocamadour cheese!! The macaroon and the chocolate dessert were good too.
