Nice place with a vibrant atmosphere. Food was delicious. You can watch the chefs as they cook. I would highly recommend this to couples and small groups. Great wine selection. Reservation recommended.
Down a little side street and easy to miss this um assuming place delivers
We went in and was asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t. The place wasn’t big and all the tables had been reserved. Luckily there was a high top that...I guess they use for the bar area that we could sit at
The waiter came and took our drink order as we tried to figure out the menu. That’s half the fun.
We had garlic bread, humus salad and croque monsieur to start. The only very small thing was that the garlic bread could have had more garlic. Everything was delicious
For mains we had a lamb dish , duck breast, a burger and a chicken dish. We all tried each other’s and everything was absolutely amazing.
Same for desserts. A chocolate mousse, pear tart and a red fruit cake thing.
This was by far the best food we had on our trip.
Service was excellent and friendly, but the food was the star. You must go here.
Even saw the chef and complimented him. So so good
Tip: make a reservationMore
We loved this place, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left they we're friendly, warm and welcoming. Food was the best we've had on our trip and we've been to Barcelona and Paris over the last week. English was good enough...but what really made it fantastic is the staff and specifically the owners both work there and they are obviously passionate about they're food and making sure they're customers enjoy themselves. If you come to Nimes, please try them out...More
Great food with fine lamb and duck dishes as well as excellent burgers. The waiters are very friendly and speak English. We seemed to be the only tourists there the two times we ate there and the place was filed with locals - always a...good sign.More
I went here whilst staying in the Antichambre B and B ( who kindly reserved the restaurant table for us!) We turned up not really expecting much as it was just round the corner from where we were staying but were we ever proved wrong....Firstly the wine is quite cheap and they also do beers and soft drinks , secondly the waiter spoke excellent English so my really not very excellent french skills were not tested this night and lastly the sizes of the portions reminded me of home ie massive like my mum made. The food was / is amazing . I had lasagne and a starter and couldnt even consider thinking about dessert but ordered the cheese board to see what it was like. The whole dinner was amazing and the ambience was incredible. Clearly loved by the locals as about 10 minutes after we arrived the place was rammed. Reservations are recommended. Utterly sublime. Loved it!More
They really know what they're doing here. I had the lamb with mashed potatoes and string beans. Everything was well flavored, well presented, good portions.
They're really going for the anglophone atmosphere (American, British...)for real in there from the decor to the style of food,...but damn it, they do a good job - except the bartender was a bit grouchy/rude and impatient which is crappy because he is an extension of the restaurant and should offer the same level of quality all the servers and chefs do.
I've gone several times and their food doesn't disappoint- and whenever someone asks me where to eat in Nimes, I only mention this place and Le 9.More
