Lovely atmosphere at this restaurant, through a wall and in the old city, near the Bastide. the food is cooked to order over the wood fire, and that imparts flavour. Sadly the entrecote I had was 50% gristle, and there weren't many choices - last 2 times we came it was great, well attended etc, but this time, seasonal, there... More

The restaurant is 'quirky' been going since 1968 I think... mind you some of it looked like it had not changed since then - however it somehow added to the charm. The waitress did not speak a work of English, and my french is hopeless, however we had a laugh and she was genuinely lovely. The food was nice, but... More

The restaurant is a lovely place - well decorated as you feel good and warm. About the food, nothing special. I had the 22 euros menu that came with a onion soup to start with, then a sirloin steak as the main and a caramel pancake for desert. Food was OK. Probably, I would try to to find a better... More

We took a chance on this restaurant since most were closed at the time and were pleasantly surprised. The exterior looked somewhat kitschy, but the interior was very appropriate for the area with a fireplace and a guitar player. The service was attentive and the food and wine both plentiful and tasty.

Popped in this restaurant for a couple of drinks late in the afternoon when the shops started to close in the medieval city. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, and has an open fireplace in the middle of dining room, making it very romantic and cosy! Staff are very nice, and their drinks recommendations were spot on! The local wine... More

An awesome location in the centre of Carcassonne. One of many similar restaurants but well worth dining at.

We took a punt on this restaurant, just because it looked quaint - and we were rewarded with good food in very pleasant surroundings. There are a few menus to suit taste and/or purse, with a wide selection of meals. The cassoulet was very good and the steak was very tender. There were some guitarist singers playing live during our... More

A tasteful dark but well furnished place with a lovely cosy atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating however not that overtly friendly..however nice enough. There was a charming elderly lady there that finished off dealing with us. Anyway we had a beautiful three course meal: onion soup, leg of duck and a classic Carcassonne 'Cassoulet' finished off with orange crepes and... More

We ordered grilled duck breasts and watched our server barbecued them for us in a wood fire pit. He also prepared the potatoes the same fashion. We really enjoyed this dish as the meat was tender and juicy. Highly recommend.

It was a quiet dark night. Christmas lights were twinkling as we made our way up and up through the twisting medieval cobbled streets. We perused several menus and finally settled on des Troubadours, owing to the quaint ancient building and candle lit interior. What a treat! Although we were the only customers at first, the restaurant and staff were... More
