Offering a very wide choice of different styles/kitchens this place will cater to anyone. Please note that not all of the mini-restaurants will offer the same level of service and food quality. So far we have been pretty happy with the Mavromatis branch, the Asian options and the ham-counter (Bellota). It is certainly not the cheapest option around but the... More

Prior to closing, waitress unexpectedly picked up our dishes and throw them away. If you are paying for the food you should be able to direct what to do with it.

Lafayette gourmet is a great address for foodies and you can find almost every french, italian, spanish... specialty for your eyes and taste buds to feed on. You can find exotic spices, pata negra, fresh pasta, eclairs (Eclairs du genie), macarons, a bakery, and other shops where you can get food on site or take out, whatever you feel like.

I'm very interested in food; especially cakes and pastries. So walking into this place with aisles full of the most beautiful patisseries in the world is pure bliss. The cakes are so beautiful it's unrealistic, and it's interesting for everyone to see what the French can do with pastry.

Here you find everything you need for a regular meal, a fancy picnic, or a romantic dinner at home... You have grocery shelves full of goodies and lots of pret a manger options too. A must in Paris if you like food as we do.

I have never seen such a rude and unprofesional manager at Pret a manger Lafayette Gourmet. We were litteraly kick out of restaurant by Pret a Manger manager who wanted to go home on time. Such attitude is not tolerable. Pret a Manger management must address this situation ASAP and take it very seriously as customers deserve dignity and respect.

Instead of buying useless gifts, head to Lafayette gourmet and enjoy the huge selection of sweets and foods perfect for gifting. I loved the selection of candy! Everything at excellent prices in comparison to small shops around Paris.

The Pret a Manger is good to go. They serve a decent flat white, pain au chocolate, normal & almond croissants - a great start for the day. Other food stalls are several patisseries which offer decadent macarons and desserts. Our favourite haunt is the Pret a Manger for the coffee and croissants.

You enter and don't know what to look at first . The chocolate shaped like a shoe, cakes to pretty to eat... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
