This restaurant is very charming, the waitstaff superb, and the food excellent. The Cassoulet is the best I've had, and the beef bourginon is to die for. The desserts are huge, and well worth it.

This charming little bistro on the Ile Saint Louis, is owned and operated by the warm-hearted and talented Chef Liliane. You will enjoy the pleasures of traditional French cuisine situated in a building dating back to 1594 where you'll find hearty French classics such as onion soup, bœuf bourguignon and crème brulée in a cozy setting, complete with beautiful ancient... My wife and I stopped in here on a rainy night because it was located next door to our hotel and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is located in an ancient building in the area of Notre Dame Cathedral, though far enough away to avoid most of the hoards of tourists. It is small with two floors, though only... Tiny restaurant with a chef who may greet you at the door or at least stop by your table to chat. Lovely wine selection. Marvelous varied traditionally French menu: --we both had the salad with warm chèvre and sunflower seeds --my husband had the "melt in his mouth" boeuf bourguignon and I had the tender and savory Lapin --shared the... One of the benefits of the Île St-Louis is the feeling of timeless Paris...and Aux Anysetiers du Roy takes that classic, timeless Paris and brings it to life on a plate and in a glass. Poetry aside, this is a varied menu of French classic dishes prepared perfectly with a good presentation. I could actually imagine fine dining in 1950s... More

This place, sat quietly on the Ile St Louis is a real gem. It is only tiny and you do not have to mind sharing a small space with other diners but it is loaded with atmosphere. It really is the sort of place you might find in a small French town, not in the heart of a big city.... More

We first ate here 15 years ago and were glad it was still here being operated by the same woman. Its a small old building with an interior which provides a perfect ambiance for the meal served which is more home cooked traditional then modern French. My wife had chicken and I had rabbit and they were both clearly prepared... More

One of the joys of travel finding places such as this . Small restaurant , wooden beams , 19th Century antique wash basin. Extensive menu . select wine list . Family business where presumably mother is the chef. Person front of house bi lingual and willing to advise on food and wine selections. Food incredible taste and reasonably priced. Advise... More

We just wandered upon this quaint very small restaurant after a long day of sight-seeing in Paris and we were absolutely amazed at how good it was! Tiny place on a corner, very old, rustic, warm and charming inside with a very French flavor. And only one guy serving us and doing everything else including cooking! But he really took... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
