Since 1927, the mythical Brasserie La Coupole has been the unavoidable symbol of the history of Montparnasse. In an art deco decor, registered as a historical heritage, the Chef proposes a French cuisine with dishes not to be missed in the great Parisian Brasseries such as sauerkraut, beef tartar with knives, roasted calf's liver and seafood platters... La Coupole adapts to all your desires, from breakfast, lunch, dinner, to aperitif time with its creative cocktails and its American bar. The most, take advantage of a pleasant terrace during the beautiful days and a continuous service every day.

This institution has a lovely ambience, a history and a presence in Paris equalled by few. From my visit, I would say you could fault little except for slightly too self satisfied managers and careless waiters. The commi-waiters make up shortcomings a little with their...diligence. If you are wanting a true Parisian experience, look elsewhere.More

A must stay in Sapa coming back from a trek or for a break from busy Hanoi. From the reception, the pool, the spa, the restaurant, attentive and kind staff providing above 5-star service. A true dining experience at Chic restaurant with fusion French Vietnamese...influence cuisine enhanced by the company of Thom, friendly waitress with even solid notions of French.More

A special birthday for my wife and so naturally we went to the history-soaked splendour of La Coupole. Some people complain about the service here, but the random quality is all part of the charm for me. It always seems to vacillate between offhand and...slightly rude to enthusiastic and heart-warming - or in other words Parisienne! I opted not to alert the restaurant to it being a birthday so have no idea what they would do if anything if you do mention it. When asking for the third time for the children's menu we were told they had, the head waiter responded with "er...chicken...or salmon...or...." and he tailed off with what was almost a comedic 'oh-hi-ho-hi-ho' cliched noise! Now you can either be offended by this or just enjoy the farce - we chose the latter! Onion soup and ravioli as starters and both were delicious. For main, the boy had his salmon, my wife had the fillet and I went for the whole lobster. Suffice it to say, everyone fully enjoyed their meals as they were all superb. For pudding, we both had crepes suzette and the show put on by our table then ensured that multiple tables nearby also then ordered it. They were as good to eat as they had been to watch being made. Not the cheapest joint in town, but the food is excellent, the ambience is terrific, the staff are constantly entertaining in various ways and where else can you get such unbelievable history? Magnifique.More

As always every time in Paris we make a stop here. I love the fresh oysters. This time our onion soup wasn’t as good as before but my lobster was delicious as well my husband’s fish. Drinks and a shared desert. We had a fantastic...night!More

Always a treat. Classic Parisian establishment has had a recent facelift but retains all the charm. We had a delightful evening, delicious food and the most warm and personable service from Miriam.

The raw bar is amazing, ate my share of oysters. Good service and very good food. We sat outside most of the time, very pleasant and enjoyable. This has joined my short list of places to go, actually went there 4 times on this trip,...always excellent. A truly beautiful restaurant inside.More

Clearly a landmark restaurant. Old school waiters and service. Phenomenal seafood… and sauerkrauts/curry?? Don’t get the curry… get the seafood! Great for people watching and just general fun with food.

This is a large restaurant with very good food, and incredible good wines….. but not worth going if you want a good time with friends or family, it’s very noisy as it has a huge dinner with many tables and about 300 seats, but if...you’re in a group and there’s someone’s birthday and you sing “happy birthday” in your mother’s language (we are Portuguese) the manager comes and tells you to keep your voice down. So… don’t go if you want quiet, but don’t go also if you’re in a party style. Just don’t go. It’s expensive and you’re not treated right. There’s lots of good places do eat good food and drink good wines in Paris. This is a no return spot unfortunately.More

The restaurant is vast and open all year . Children are not a problem. Wise to try and secure a reservation although everyone i saw arriving had not booked.

Probably for a quick lunch but not 3 courses. Remember to book ahead. Btw. It took around 10 mins from arrival to get to our table - very busy, but that was in the evening
