We tried several dishes, maybe over 12. All of them were great, full of bold flavours and true to the typical spiciness of the northern Chinese cuisine. Service was average, but who cares when food tastes this good!

Unassuming interior but great food. Fast service, good portions and a reasonable bill at the end of it. Cap that with good company and you have all you need to be happy in the moment.

After several nights of heavy French meals in South of France and Lyon, tonight my partner really wanted a Chinese dinner. I looks up the Chinese restaurants near where we stay in Marais and decided to give Iris on rue Saint Martin (near Les Halles/Artes et Metiers) a try. I can't believe I say this but we just had the... More

It was advertised as specialized in spicy food, and it is. I and my friends had to order several bowl of white rice to balance the taste, but in fact the food is great. I totally enjoyed.

Our youngest is vegan. She got desperate to eat and we were in a Urey to find somewhere to eat, we saw the Iris and decided to give it a go. My youngest wanted a few vegetable dishes and plain rice so we took a chance. Well, we were very pleased we did. The haricot vert with chilli, garlic and... More

Was there with friends who recommended the place. We took a few items on the menu which we shared and some rice. Price was fair, food is quite cheap, drinks cost only a bit more. Service was good. Athmosphere is abit cramped but ok. I can recomment the chef's grilled chicken and the roasted pork with caramel.

We went for lunch, and had absolutely delicious lamb brochettes, duck, fish, shrimp, & fried rice. The only dish left unfinished from the lunch set was the beef. I would certainly eat here again.

The food was authentic and very tasty. It was reasonably priced and the the food came out pretty quickly. The service was what you'd expect in a chinese restaurant of its calibre so dont expect to be greeted with a 5 star welcome. They are quick and efficient. Perfect for a quick feed!!

Nothing glam about it..just your basic decor, but the food is very good! Lots of locals, and packed enough that you have to wait for a table, but well worth the wait. Soups were especially good, just go for house specials and you can't go wrong. Neighbourhood has many other Chinese restaurants, all half empty while Iris was completely full,... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
