Appears to be a husband wife business. Very friendly service. Genuine care for customers. The food is delicious. Great menu range. Unusual options. I love the sardine entree. This is a cut above the rest. Delightful French surroundings. It is always booked so be sure to make a booking. I have been 3 times in the past fortnight. It has... More

Met my party for a table for six. Everyone had a different meal, with meat, and salad, wine by the glass. Perfect. Many individual wines in a wine system so bring your wine palate. Even more options from around France are available by bottle, with the menu written on chalk boards. Bordeaux, Burgundy, Chablis, and many more. Scrumptious desserts we... More

I found this place by accident and was drawn in by what I thought from the outside looked like a warm , friendly interior. How wrong I was! I made the mistake of not checking the menu on display outside and went straight in lured by the cute tablecloths and homely interior. The waiter or manager who greeted us was... More

It was our first night in Paris for a 5 day trip. We walked by L'Evasion and there were ZERO people in the restaurant, so we kept walking. We stopped at a busy corner restaurant, thinking that was a good sign of food quality and value, but it turned out it was happy hour and people were there for the... More

I went there for lunch and had a very good experience. I would go back in a heartbeat. I ordered a very good Cote du Rhone 2011(euro 10 a glass) to go along with my pork loin steak (plume de porc Iberique at euro 33) garnished with braised bok choi. I'm not a big meat eater, but this was a... More

L'Évasion used to be my #1 bistro in this area of Paris. I have been going since 2007. I was there last month and noticed a lot of changes: my favorite menu items were no longer available (no cassoulet, no riz au lait), the prices had significantly gone up, the selection of wine by the glass was smaller, and it... Simple French bistro with a great menu, bit on the expensive side, but worth it as the food was fantastic and unusual. Service was typical for Paris - bit rude but that is part of the charm and it is different. This place is slightly away from the tourist areas and great for business or romanic dinners. The sardine starter... More

Just one set back, nearly no price bellow 12 euro a glass, the same with the main dishe, nearly nothing under 30 euro.

We have always liked this little hideaway, nicely located on the Place St. Augustin. The wines are a big draw, with a great selection by the glass or bottle, and reasonable pricing - much better in quality and price than you'll find at the cross-place bistros. The menu always has several appealing choices, and the pricing is fair. The food... More

Too expensive for what it is - almost Michelin prices for very good (but still only) classic brasserie food.
