This restaurant and the one's near it are a great alternate to the broadly available overly sugared version of Chinese food available throughout Paris. The Temple Celeste offers much more authentic and delicious food. It is clean, quaint in a hole in the wall sort of way. The service is good and friendly. I am not sure if they speak... More

We had a wonderful dinner. The service was excellent. The Chinese food was better than we usually get at home in the US. Fortunately, we are staying in Paris that we might be able to go back. Very nice people. We don't speak French or Cinese and the don't speak English but we communicated just fine.

I was told that the food was excellent. Unfortunately, no! Could be I expected too much! Tasteless, I need to put seasoning by myself. Don't order Vietnamese dishes, not authentic at all. Chinese food are too oily! Tables are toooooo close to each other, just like you lean on other people. Price is good. No service. If you need time... More

Paris is so freezing. Wanna have hot pot for chinese new year eve dinner. Luckily they provide a very good hot pot and nice fresh fish to let me have a great new horse year. The service is also very nice.

Ordered pork dumplings, recommend. The 5 spice duck was so so. Schezuan beef was very interesting, unlike we've had in the US.-- it was good though with ginger and lemongrass, and tofu along with traditional peppers. We really had to get the attention of the owner who initially greeting us and sat us to order after about 15 minutes. Yet... More

My husband and I went to this small restaurant and we were very impressed by the food. We had sweet and sour chicken (not on the menu), duck and seasonal vegetables - all courses were delicious! With one beer, the entire meal costed around ?26 which of course is very reasonable.

I used to live in this neighborhood and ate here 3 x a week. There are 2 restaurants: the one at #9 is a smaller, to-go kind of place. I recommend going to that one. It's loud, full of excited Chinese people screaming their orders. The food is REALLY cheap...and excellent. The Vietnamese Phö soup is superb, especially. And they... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
