Cosy. Nice waitress with a lot of patience for my bad french. (Her English was worse..). A Clos Salad- very nice and some decent Chablis. The decoration is homemade and fantastic. I just love everything a out the place. Especially after been to a quite too many snobbish places.

I am only giving one star as there is not an option for zero. My husband and I went here for a late lunch. While awaiting our food a MOUSE (La souris) ran across the restaurant and under our table. My husband got the attention of the waitress (who I believe to be the owner based on her behaviors). She... More

Didn't start serving food until 06:30pm - we were invited to have a drink until the chef was ready. Very average food, very salty. The duck confit was a little cold.

Always busy and unless you arrive exceptionally early you will have to join a chaotic queue. Tables are fitted extremely close to each other but non of this detracts from the experience. Service is efficient but can appear brusque due to busy nature of the restaurant. I've never tried the daily specialities, as the regular main dishes tend to be... More

The Bouef Bourguignon is definitely worth the name at the place. Very tasty and decently priced too. I could even order a Pic StLoup Ted wine which is a personal favorite

Very nice place. Relaxed and casual. Beef bourginion was delicious. Attentive and friendly staff. Plenty of tables. Helped us with making travel plans. Speak some English. Will return.

I alway use Trip Advisor to check what others think of eateries. In this instance, I was very disappointed. I had a reasonable starter, my vegetarian wife had an expensive green salad. Apparently green salad means lettuce and more lettuce! My main was steak along with what seems to have become the easy option... Half a plateful of average fries... More

We visited this small resturant located on a sideway from a big street. The server (owner?) was very tentative and despite not being a good english speaker, made it work. The menu offered were on english and from there on there were no problem. We arrived at 19:00 without booking a table and had no problem getting a table. Recommendation... More

My husband and I are fans of beef bourguignon and I was looking forward to trying some real French food. What a treat. Since my wheelchair did not fit into the café, I was able to step up and walk over to a table and they graciously found room to store my bulky chair. The tables were small and very... More

Is this restaurant going to win any design awards for its decor? No. Will you be served frou-frou French cuisine? No. But will you be given an authentic and tasty meal at a reasonable price? Absolutely. The mom-and-pop restaurant serves up classic French food at a moderate price. I enjoyed my Farmer's Salad, although it was big on meat and... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
