I don't know about food, but it looks rather simple and average. But after many bad experiences with cocktails finally a place where they can make some real good ones....pricy yes but also great!! Extra point for the view and place...service is usually ok but as they are always full don't expect too much on that front :d

Ok so I stayed in Paris for a month for work. Often working late, so this became my local due to being near to the hotel. The Lemon Pie Martini is fantastic. Also the chicken with lemon very good. Some helpful tips for tourists going here. 1 - Upon arrival you may not get greeted automatically, I tended to just... More

Grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading to Pantheon. Nice service. Decent food. Unremarkable but fine. (Pommes frittes were good. Skip the charcuterie.)

This restaurant has a very nice terrace, facing the square, where you can sit on a sunny afternoon for a small dose of tanning

A great place, well located place de la Contrescarpe. Great decor, great ambiance, nice employees. However there is one terrible server and unfortunately We got him twice out of 3 Lunches/dinners

I live nearby when in Paris, so I often stop here for a crème and croissant in the morning or an oeuf poché bénédictin for lunch. A little pricey for lunch, but I enjoy the view on the place de la Contrescarpe.

We have visited Cafe Delmas several times over the years sometimes just for a drink and sometimes to eat. It's a great place to watch the world go by overlooking Place Contrescarpe. The food is basic French bistro food but well cooked, there is a good choice of drinks and the service is very efficient. If you are looking for... More

It's open late, in a lively area, and the staff are friendly enough. Decent little décor, and while the food is basic and predictable, it's not horrible, as so many of the places around here are. If stuck on a late night you could do a lot worse.

I've been here many times over the years for a coffee or drink, but seldom to eat. Looking for something simple and light, we tried it out and we're pleasantly surprised by the originality and quality of our dishes. Always a nice atmosphere.

We sat and waited after being ushered in by a barker. And we waited ... and waited, while the waiter appeared to do all in his power to avoid us. Especially galling, given that there are four or five other cafes on this place.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
