La Jacobine perfectly delivered the Parisian dinner experience we were looking for. The food was excellent, service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was charming and inviting. We enjoyed escargot, lamb, and duck, plus a house made profiterole for dessert. Prices were entirely reasonable...for the offerings. We also enjoyed dining indoors in a smoke free atmosphere, which is how all restaurants are where we come from. The outdoor cafe experience was great and we have no complaints about how much people smoke in France, but a break from that was welcomed. La Jacobine takes reservations, so we stopped in during lunch to reserve for dinner later in the week. If you just show up, you can expect a wait. The restaurant sits on a charming lane with other restaurants and at least two bars, so there is a very lively atmosphere on what is otherwise a hidden alley off the main streets. We recommend it.More
We tried to get in for dinner last night but they were booked up but we made a reservation for lunch today instead and soooooo glad we did. The restaurant runs very efficiently with just two staff on the floor and there was no fluster...or stress or pressure from them to over order (they don’t take your dessert order until you have finished your main…. Glad they did it this way because we couldn’t fit in a dessert.) we ordered 3 entrees and 2 mains and everything was perfection. The cost of our meal and a coke was €79 and worth every penny. They don’t push you to eat and run and there was no pressure to buy any drinks. My encouragement, if you are in the area, book ahead and whatever you do….. don’t miss out on eating at this little gem.More
Would go back 1000 times! Service was excellent. We went one evening and they were fully booked, so we made a reservation for the next evening when they opened at 7. We arrived very early around 6:30 with exhausted and hot children (it was 95°...in Paris that day), the server saw us outside and immediately recognized us and brought us into the restaurant before they even opened to sit down in the air conditioning and have a drink. The servers were beyond friendly and very accommodating to kids too! And the food… Best French onion soup I have ever had. Went with my 3 and 6 year old children who are pretty picky, and they loved it. Kids had the soup, and the pork fillet and they couldn’t get enough. My whole family really enjoyed our dinning experience! Don’t miss this restaurant! And bonus, the restaurant is on the cutest little street ever!More
First off, you definitely need a reservation for this place. I tried calling but they didn’t answer, went to the place around lunch and the waiter was not very friendly towards people “outside” the restaurant. However, once you got the table, they were pretty attentive....Tips is, just be confident, open the door and ask for a table. You might get a table at 9pm onwards or just book for the next day. The wait was not so long. If you want to have dinner, go around 7-7.30 pm. , before the crowd. Peak time was around 8.30pm. So avoid that. Food was salty for us, good but salty. Maybe it’s french style? Well if it takes a lot of work, it’s not that worth it. But if not, it doesn’t hurt to try. Duck confit was great.More
We were in Paris for business and we desire to visit and eat at la jacobina we try to call but no answer we try to visit web site and it was instagram we sent a message for reservation but also no answer so we...went there!! The place was full and there was people waiting, then a waiter appeared and ask if we are in the list!!! How can we be in the list if NOONE is answering to the phone or messages?More
The food at La Jacobine is outstanding! I would give it 10 stars if I could. We were there on July25, 2023, the night before we flew back to the USA. I didn't realize that a reservation was required, but we arrived at 6 pm...to put our name on the list. Fortunately for us, a party of 4 with a 7 pm reservation did not arrive so we were very fortunate to get their table. All four of us had the French Onion Soup which was so rich and flavorful. I can honestly say that it was the best I ever had. We each had an entree and dessert which were also so delicious. What helped to make our evening together so enjoyable was our server, Alex. He provided excellent attentive service, spoke English beautifully, and had a great sense of humor. We were never rushed. This was a wonderful way to spend our last night in Paris. I can honestly say that this was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Thank you, La JacobineMore
Good location in historical street but food is far from exporta Good location in historical street but food is far from expectation. Too much balsamic vinegar on salads. Tajine very dry and over cooked, wirh no taste of lemon as announced. Really disapointing... It used...to be much better à few years ago.More
Had eaten here on 5 occasions pre Covid visits to Paris. Felt had to go back and we weren’t disappointed. Super salad; and salmon and spinach in a parcel followed by Mille Feulles Had to book to get an early table on Wednesday and when...tried to book a slot at any time on the Friday we were out of luck!! Our waiter was attentive and chatty to all the tables , all helping creative the super atmosphere that we remembered from the past.More
We visited La Jacobine the second night we were in Paris. We had tried calling ahead of our trip, literally tried calling to make a reservation for months without any luck. We even had our hotel in Paris call but could not get through. This...was a bit frustrating, but we ended up stopping in the night we landed and put our name on a waitlist for the next night which worked out well. When we finally got in, we were thrilled. We ordered two entrees and wine. Everything was good, but I think we both felt a bit let down… when you put so much effort into trying to get in somewhere and you read such good reviews, you expect the food to be incredible. Neither of us felt that the food warranted the reviews. I’m glad we visited, but it’s not something I would recommend above other spots we visited. So in a nutshell, good food (not great), good service, super packed restaurant with a long line outside which we thought added a positive spin on the energy of the restaurant, and good ambiance.More
Awesome food and experience. I got the Tajine which I loved, but their French onion soup was great as well. Would definitely come back
One of our favorite places to eat in Paris! This restaurant serves the BEST authentic French Onion Soup of anywhere in Paris. Reservations are a must. On this trip we failed to make reservations early enough and almost misssed eating at La Jacobine. However, we...went to the restaurant and asked to be put on a waiting list. They were able to work us in and we enjoyed our usual dinner of Escargot and French Onion Soup anong with a decadent dessert.More
Very delicious duck confit !! The best one I had in Paris from my trip. Cozy little shop with outstanding service. Need to call and make reservation before hand as they’re very busy! I’m so glad we had our hotel call and book this restaurant...and we loved it! Highly recommend!More
We had to make our reservation in person for a few days later but it was worth the wait We are a family of 5 and we all loved our dishes It’s a small restaurant with great staff. Our waiter was very pleasant and spoke...perfect English It was our favorite restaurant in ParisMore
This restaurant it’s a really good place where to eat good food i a good vibe than others restaurants nearby. Also compare with others menu around this restaurant is not to cheap and not too expensive where anyone can afford it at the same time...to enjoy the food. The meat it’s so tender and juice and and the service of the food was quick we didn’t wait over 20min. So I want to compliments all the chefs because to serve this kind of food in such short time is not for everyone. Service floor were good they know how to service the customers. We left service charge hope will share including the kitchen because the food it was amazing. If I have to come back in Paris it’s definitely for the food of this restaurant.More
