Looking randomly for a place for late dinner, almost without any hope, we came across Les comediens. It couldn't be better! It has a very pleasant atmosphere, good wine and delicious food (though not that cheap). One of the highlights was definitely the service. The waitress (whose name I regret have missed) is just the best ever: so friendly, good-humoured,... More

We were a party of 5, non french speaking Americans, and had the best service I have ever had in a french restaurant. The food was fantastic and I was able to find items on the menu for my 2 early teen daughters. For me the menu was a great balance between French food, which I love, and a menu... More

really nice food, great ambiance and very knowledgeable waiters. hidden in some quiet place behind st lazare station. I will definitely go back there, I tried their "pot parfait" which really was perfect. would advice people to check it when they are in Paris.

If you want a nice quality late night meal, nice glass of wine and a little background entertainment this is the place. The chef is modest but he's a hero in these parts. God, does he know how to cook a chicken. And the apple tart - you wait 20 min but you can't get better in Paris. I like... More

This was chosen by one of the group that I was in Paris with. Great choice for a group wishing correct ambience to speak and share good wine and food. Starting with the Gratin of Orzo with summer white truffles, truffled ham, parmesan was a good choice. Followed by the veal and all deserts at the table praised. The staff... More

We stumbled across this atmospheric restaurant by accident. Lucky us! I love restaurants that do not try to offer too much choice. Our starter of regional sausage on a bed of lentils was delicious. An ideal appetiser to a perfectly cooked and succulent steak, yummy. The wine list offered a good range at fair prices, indeed Crozes Hermitage at €36... More

I was meeting a friend. My wife was late so we waited at the bar for a while. Drinks are nice and not too expensive. We were seated after my wife had a drink with us. The staff was nice and efficient. They helped us with some of the dishes on the menu and they were quick to bring our... More

The restaurant is the typical Parisian restaurant. Was looking for one, in order to have a romantic dinner. Didnt need to explain it, as the manager immediately

A nice discovery with a bit of a seemlike "bistrot" deco. Were a party of 6, everyone enjoyed the food, but i shall confess that only the "oyster tartare" retained my full attention and... Rightly so ! Flavours and originality were there. Beautiful Ladoix 1er cru to Go with the meal and their "baba au rhum" will be a blow... More

Paris' Les Comediens restaurant, in the 9th arrondissement, is a favourite among artsy types who flock there for post-theatre dinners as orders can be placed until 12am and because of its enviable location just two steps from the Theatre de Paris and Trinity Church.. But it's also a local favourite for business lunches because of its calm, relaxed atmosphere and extremely professional service. The dining room is a graceful melange of traditional bistrot and chic modern restaurant, with classic wood seating and tables, tobacco-coloured walls, and daily blackboard specials as well as open-to-view rotisserie and ovens, stark flower arrangements, and loftlike ambience. The gregarious and welcoming chef/proprietor Gilles Bellot uses the freshest of ingredients in his daily-changing menu, though there are a few touchstones that always remain. Dishes include roasted cod fillet with buffalo mozzarella and pureed potatoes, sauteed squid Barcelona style, chateaubriand of Aubrac with white truffle and foie gras sauce. Wine carte shows dedication.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
