I have been to Le Trumilou on several occasions now: As a couple, with my husband (several times), with our family, with friends... And the food and service have been consistently good. We are big fans of the côte de beouf here (it's char-grilled, a rarity in France), along with their delicious fries! The owner is always very friendly and... More

I made the mistake of asking for the duck with dauphinoise potatoes instead of the fries. They were half warm and half cold (in typical badly microwaved style) and just seemed like some potatoes with cream poured over them. The portion of duck is huge and really excellent.

Went with local Friends who told us this restaurant is still one of the few really authentic Parisian restaurants left. They have terrines, liver and other stuff that the average tourist would not venture into. The eggs with Chanterelles were outstanding, the veal was nice. Service was very good.

This was a definitely a find. Food and wine were great, (I had steak au poivre), and reasonably priced (this is Paris after all!). Best part was there was no one around who was not French- so you know this is where the locals eat.

This place is one of the best things of my Paris' trip! I had dinner 3 times in a week and I love it so much! The first night I ate that amazing soup, I almost ate it all! And then the beautiful duck, so yummy. I came back for escargots, and love them! Also had  sweetbreads with mushrooms and... More

Great bistro. Fantastic snails, escargot. Must taste the duck, is simply fantastic and you should also taste the pepper steak. However the house wine isn't good. So get a good bottle of wine to the great food.

Came here recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. Arrived half an hour before opening time but friendly staff served drinks while setting up tables. Great place to try traditional french food. We had veal and sweetmeat, both yummy, reasonably prices, big portion sizes. Only drawback need for long siesta after hearty lunch :)

I have eaten here about a dozen times and the food is good to very good. They do many of the bistro standards that refreshingly they are not trying to put a new twist on them. Over the years I have enjoyed Salade Lyonaise, Sole Meuniére, Steak au Poivre, Ris de Veau Grande Mére, Foie de Veau with mushrooms. It... More

Every time I go to Paris, I have lunch or dinner here and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is old French bistro, the food is delicious (duck is a specialty, but everything is great), the service is excellent. I was there in October and as always it was such a treat. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. This is... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
