About
Le Procope founded in 1686 by the Sicilian Francesco Procopio Dei Coltelli, is considered to be one of the oldest cafes in Paris, as well as a legendary meeting place for artists and intellectuals. You'll be surprised as much by the decor of the three-hundred-year-old restaurant, marked by the historical events it has witnessed over the years, as by its culinary classics, such as the coq au vin or whiting and its creams and sorbets made by the House. A historic cafe to try for a full meal or even a cup of tea and a sweet pastry.

A lovely restaurant; the dining room is lovely. Nice menu, good wine list and very efficient staff. Service is good but unobtrusive. Our third visit and we will definitely come again.

Loved the atmosphere here. We decided to have coffee/tea and a dessert. My partner had the pear crumble which he said was very good. I decided to have the profiteroles. I was a little disappointed, not because they were not delicious but because I was...More

I have been attending Procope since January 1979 where I went as a student. Since then, and at regular intervals, I keep trying and trying again the calf's head: well, in all these years there has been no decrease in quality: it is always excellent...More

I have enjoyed many nice restaurants, but from a historical standpoint Le Procope is the cream of the crop. I savored the best gazpacho that has ever touched my lips. It was truly delicious. The food was priced at reasonable rates, the service was super...More

If you’re excited about eating at the oldest brasserie in Paris then go. Otherwise there’s much better food elsewhere. Also my kids were starving and the waiter took 30 mins to get the bread (they made me add that).

I love this historic place with its beautiful decor and reasonable menu. Traditional elegance! We’ve brought many guests here because it’s foolproof. The service is perfect! The traditional French food is tasty (but not amazing). Still, we will bring guests here again!

This place is well worth the visit. It scores 5/5 for atmosphere, service, food quality and taste, and price. We chose the 3 course set meal. Each meal was a true delight. We will be going back before we leave Paris. I highly recommend this...More

You could bring kids - it isn't inappropriate, but it is certainly upscale and not catered to the palate of children. So, it depends upon what your children eat.
