The only bad thing about our visit was that we weren't all that hungry. This is a charming restaurant with a great staff. It was full of locals so you know what that means! Our light fare was wonderful, but the fire-roasted steaks and skewers passing our table smelled even better! Another highlight was the best violet ice cream I've... More

It is a walking distance from Notre Dame. We were very lucky to have a seat as we did not make reservations. Many were turned down while we were dining as the place looks like it could hold 20 - 30pax only. Its a small cozy place. Not a place for romantic dinner. The table arrangement was laid out as... Had the rib eye cooked over wood fired grill......unbelievable..! Beautifully seasoned, no need for a sauce. Cooked perfectly to order. Flavour was fantastic. Came with green salad and some fried potatoes but really it's all about the very large and tasty steak. Very cosy little restaurant, waiting staff were very pleasant and we're happy to use some English to help... More

I have visited this restaurant twice: in 2016, last March and this February, 2017. Both times the food was superb, especially, the steak prepared on wood - delicious! Me and my boyfriend were so busy eating it that we did not talk to each other for 30 minutes) And lavender ice-cream is a great desert there. Strongly recommend this place... More

Found this restaurant on trip advisor & after reading all the reviews I called up & booked a table. The restaurant is opposite Notre Dame & next to Shakespeare & company. Both worth a visit. There was mixed reviews about the staff speaking English & I was a bit worried my basic French wouldn't suffice but from calling to make... More

This place has surprisingly great food and an amazing location. While you often have to venture away from the typical tourist destinations to get good food, such is not the case with Le Petit Chatelet. Right beside Notre Dame towards Latin Quarter is this gem. We had a grilled salmon in pesto and olive oil, and a lamp skewer. Both... More

My spouse and I had dinner hear on the advice of our hotel. The food and service was outstanding. It is a very popular place, so I would recommend a reservation but, we were able to get seated promptly by showing up when the opened up at seven. I have always loved French food, but this little place redefines what... More

We did not book in advance but would suggest doing so. Waited a matter of minutes to be taken to our table. The restaurant is extremely cosy and tables close together. Presented with menu in French and English, the waitress also spoke about the menu in English. Although the restaurant was full with only one waitress, we did not feel... More

The meat was burnt. The service cold and slow. Overall a disappointing experience. We came with high expectations.

Really intimate venue, with friendly and attentive servers; and amazing food. Turned out to be a little gem when we stumbled across it.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
