La Cordonnerie dates back to 1690 and serves cuisine de marché, fresh market food. There are fewer than 20 seats in this intimate space. NYTimes 2011 This is a small small 2 room restaurant that fills up by 8:30 in the evening. It is a two man show the chef in the kitchen and the waiter out front. We had... More

Very small welcoming restaurant with lovely helpful staff and excellent food. The menu had a great choice of meat and fish I really enjoyed the sword fish special! It is clear the chef has a good idea of flavours and combinations, everything we are was delicious and perfectly cooked. The wine list had a good selection with a range of... More

La Cordonniere provides excellent French cooking at reasonable prices especially around the 1st Arondissement. If there is a criticism is the limited fish / vegetarian choices that however is overshadowed by the best Pear Mousse I've ever eaten. Also an excellent wine list.

Took my tourists here (I'm a tour guide) as they were foodies. Everything was fairly priced and quality was exceptional. Starters around 10€ range, Entrees were 25€ range and dessert also 10euros range. I attach a photo of my veal in a mushroom sauce with perfect fries. My sole complaint was (don't laugh frenchies!) No ketchup. My dessert which I... More

Had the ravioli and foie gras. Both out of this world. Main course was the pintade and pigeon, Both excellent. The Pernand-Vergelesses, 2013, was excellent too.

Small place with a very intimate feel. MAKE RESERVATIONS! Hugo and Jeremy take excellent care with both the food and the service. Just go ahead and get the specials of whatever Hugo is making that day. You cannot go wrong.

Our third visit and this time we sat in the kitchen to watch Hugo in action. He did not disappoint. Another great meal, another great conversation with the chef and other patrons. Bananas flambé is now our favourite desert.

Excellent entree and mains. The veal and lamb dishes were amazing. However, the mousse dessert wasn't as good, but that is maybe due to our own taste.

Having read excellent reviews on this restaurant, I booked 2 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. I am so glad I did, this was the best meal we had during our 4 days in Paris ( including the taster menu in the Eiffel Tower restaurant). We spent a lovely relaxed evening here, the food was fantastic and the wine was... More

Walked by only because our chosen restaurant was closed for renovations.....and so glad they were!! What ever it takes....call ahead and make a reservation....then be prepared to witness true genius in the kitchen. Has 4 - 6 tables so unless you were born with horseshoes you will be looking elsewhere. Not to be missed.
