Fantastic house cassoulet & vegetable hotpot, wonderful host. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. You'll need to have some basic French skills.

Really disappointed by this "bistro" that serves very traditional; pedestrian bistro fare. It would be bad enough if it was just expensive and boring but it's also really bland. When something as simple as a potato puree gets out of the kitchen tasteless and unseasoned, it's quite simply unforgivable, at this price. There are so many better bistros in Paris... More

L'Assiette serves relatively traditional French cuisine, executed nearly to perfection. A specialty, for example, is Cassoulet. I don't expect ever to have better Cassoulet. Can't be done. The staff is overworked, but friendly in spite.

Cosy small restaurant with very friendly staff. I had their cassoulet, and it was perfect! The panna cotta with salty caramel sauce was amazing!! The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner.

I had the most delicious cassoulet at L'Assiette. It deserves all the hype. The atmosphere at the establishment is perfectly Parisian chic without all the snobbery. The food is on the expensive side but is definitely worth it; although 7 euros for a bottle of Heineken is pretty silly. The lunch seems like a great deal however!

L'Assitte is a very appealing and relaxing experience. From the second you walk in you feel comfortable. The food while classic offers some dishes you don't find in every restaurant. Like Tete du veau. Everything is prepared with care and respect for the product. The wait staff is great and their wine recommendations were great as well. They also had... More

My wife and I have now visited this restaurant twice in the last 1.5 years and will be going back again as soon as we can. The food is really interesting and well cooked and presented. There is a real variety to be had on the menu and the wines available are of good quality and not too expensive. You... More

This is a wonderful find, the food and service is fantastic at L'Assiette and hence why we return each time we are in Paris. The waitstaff are great and ready and willing to suggest dishes as well as great wine. Fantastic pates as well as devine cassoulet! Look forward to returning on our next visit to Paris in December!

Just so delicious. i had the cassoulet, which was so rich and flavorful. But everyone in our large party enjoyed their food. Definitely will be back to this one. Why must it be so far away from me?!

Visited with my father who was in town from Sydney. He asked for two things for lunch - traditional french bistro flare and the place not to be pretentious. L'Assiette meets that brief and is one of my favorite places in Paris for that reason. Conversation was limited during our 3 courses - we decided on the al la carte... More

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
