I am Indonesian and I think the food has got the Indonesian taste I'm looking for even though it has been modified to match the French tongue. Had lunch with my friends and service was excellent; very friendly waitresses who are foreigner friendly. I definitely recommend the mie goreng! My only remark is the price, it is a little pricy.

Tried lunch at this eatery, not too many tables occupied at 12.15. Found the food a little dull.Menu was varied, but relative expensive for what you received.

“But you are in Paris! You should really explore the eateries like a local!” said a Store Keeper, French, friendly, when I asked for the directions to DJAKARTA BALI. Interestingly I did not dine in DJAKARTA BALI the first time I tasted the flavor-packed Perkedel Jagung (Corn Fritter) coupled with oh-so-charmant chili sauce (traditional sambal) and the two-helping-is-never-enough Sate Daging... It was great to taste authentic Indonesian cuisine in the heart of Europe. As the restaurant owner's mission, this place has successfully become an Indonesian Embassy of Cuisine in Paris. The tastiest food in the world, Rendang, is presented with high accuracy, except for the hotness (Europeans perhaps could not bear the original spicy rendang). Sate Ayam, was delicious with... More

Indonesian food is among our favourite national cuisines, and we were pleased to find this restaurant within easy walking distance of our hotel. We ordered a smallish rijsttafel (the Bandung) and were very pleased with our choice. Pisang goreng (fried banana) was not on the dessert menu, but the chef prepared it for me nonetheless. One small criticism: there should... More

We just finished a very good dinner at Djakarta Bali! We ordered 2 menus (the 30 and 35 euros one) as wanted to try out a variaty of dishes. We found the food was having very subtile and delicate flavours and the size of the menus was equilibrate. The staff was very friendly and the owner was making time to... More

On a business trip staying locally we decided to opt for this restaurant. It had various recommendations in the window, including trip advisor. The food was shocking, congealed sauce poured over meat, black eggs, microwaved rice and burnt spring rolls. Quite amazing that they would be happy to serve this food whilst wearing national dress. You'd be better buying a... More

Authentic food and a warm welcome. The soto ayam (chicken soup) was among the best I had ever tasted. I love their rijstaffels. They provide a good variety. This place is very popular on weekends, so I would definitely reserve a place.

I am from Indonesia and I know what the taste should be. Here is really good quality of Indonesian food. Try their rendang! It's awesome. The service is also really nice and friendly. The decoration and music is in Indonesian style. I definitely recommend this restaurant to try Indonesian food. Good job, Ibu. Greeting from Slovenia.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
