We came here looking for a quick lunch before leaving Paris. The food was fresh and tasty. We came at around 3 PM, and the place wasn't full, but there was only one waiter and the service was very slow.

The place looked nice from the outside so we expected the dishes to be nice as well. The food was disgusting (the worst salmon we've ever tried), and the service was just OK. We payed 5 euros for three tiny slices of a 2 euros cheese. Very disappointing.

My friends and I, share a Parisian Tartine. Like a Croque Monsieur on a Tartine. Excellent, tasty and large portions Like the Fontaine around, music group and nice crowds

A friend in Paris had invited us for lunch and it was the most laid back meal I've had in Paris — stretching to three hours! Overlooking the Stravinsky fountain, next to Centre Pompidou, sipping Kronenbourg 1664 — a light, crisp beer from Alsace — and we were set. What followed was endless dips and spreads with bread — olive,... More

We sat outside and enjoyed onion soup, the house tartine and coffee. Good service. Average prices. Inside was made noisy by loud customers. Across from Le Center Pompidou with a good view of Fontaine Stravinksy.

My wife and I came for lunch. When we received the food, it looked good. When we took a closer look, we saw that bowls and glasses were very dirty. It looked like they had only rinsed and not cleanded anything. We pointed this out to our waiter, and he took the dirty bowls and would come back with new.... More

We went there on a Sunday , a party of 10 with adults and teenagers. Sunday brunch very tempting for 18 € and the stunning tartines ( hudge slice of Poilane bread) were big , delicious and filling. Waiters busy but quick and efficient . Just off the Beaubourg Museum in front of the fountain with Nicky de St Phalle... More

We found this charming café near to the Centre Pompidou; we had the lunch menu which was two course and an espresso for €15.50; both courses were freshly made and the tartine was delicious. It had a lovely and bustling atmosphere, and was very enjoyable

I ate at this restaurant for lunch and had the Comté tartine. It was absolutely delicious I think I could have eaten a second one... The service was a bit slow but the waiter made it up to us by being so lovely. I was happily surprised as it sometimes is hard to find friendly service in touristy areas of... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
