The escargot is so delicious, I think it is the best in the city. This little place is charming and warm. Be prepared to share a table with others, and don't forget to make a reservation. It's popular for a reason. Great food.

The service was great, and the food was even better. I highly recommend. I had the rib eye and my fiancé had the t-bone. The potatoes that accompanied were unbelievable. Feels like a place locals would go, which I enjoyed a lot more than a place that tourists would go.

Small yet warm place for dinner. Steaks cooked in a fireplace. Friendly staff. Fresh vegetable/crudités was actually a large really lovely salad. Nicely sized portions that we could not finish. Ask to sit on upper level (street level) .

This wasn't just an ordinary lunch for us - it was organized in advance in order to surprise a special friend on a special birthday, with people coming from different countries without the birthday boy even realizing. It took meticulous planning, and several phone-calls on my part just to get everything just so. Because none of us lives in Paris,... More

We stayed in Paris for six days and eat here three times. Not four because we were too tired and napped for an afternoon. The food is amazing. I've never had better Steak in my life. The atmosphere is wonderful, we became friends with the owner in a day. I still recommend every person going to Paris to come eat... More

Had read about this restaurant and came across it when visiting the Marais. Had no booking but was early enough to get a place. It specialises in meat, great slabs of meat, cooked on an open fire. I had veal kidneys. Delicious. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Loved that we could walk from our apartment, had a table in front of the window (with red-checked curtains), could smell our steak-for-two being cooked on the fire, the wooden plates, and that Cedric (the entertainer) sang "Happy Birthday" to me! A unique and memorable evening in a cozy, rustic setting...

We ate here while on a mini break to Paris and we had a lovely meal. We started with escargot to share then one of us had steak and the other had duck. For dessert we had four different french cheese's on a board. We had two glasses of red and two glasses of white wine and this all came... More

Went to Robert et Louise on the recommendation of a friend. We made a reservation which I'm happy we did because there was already a line of 12-14 people waiting before the restaurant opened. The inside of the restaurant is small and rustic and you feel like you walked into an old tavern in the 1800s. Robert et Louise are... More

Great restaurant with wonderful staff. Emetic was a great waiter who is also a musician. We had a series of starters - escargot, pate (with pickles), assortment of cheese all of which were wonderful. For the main course we had T-bone steak and boeuf Bourgogne, each of which had potatoes and in the case of the steak, greens (uncooked lettuce).... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
