We were only here for an hour in the early evening, but the place had a great buzz about it, with something of the feel of a good English pub. Cocktails were very reasonably priced by Paris standards and service was friendly. You can eat in the evening but only things like cold meat platters, so it's more of a... More

We had walked up the Canal St Martin and unknown to us one of our party was aiming for Chez Prune. The "Prune" was a locals haunt the restaurant appeared run down or tired but it only added to the atmosphere. It was quite warm , the beers all local were chilled right and the food was excellent not overpriced... More

We stopped for lunch on our first day in Paris and really enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Small menu but delicious food as we had a pasta and a salad. Service is cool and friendly. Great place for locals but tourists are welcome if they try to fit in.

Went here for a drink in the sunshine with my partner. There were no tables outside so we sat inside and placed our order. We then noticed someone leaving a table outside so dashed out to sit down. Then had the (what I assume is) the bar manager come straight over and ask if we were English and that it... More

We've come here for years for a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon. We decided to have lunch here today, and it was good, fresh food. It looks like the menu changes daily, which is a good sign. I had a simple pasta with cheese and vegetables. The staff is typical Parisian, which means... More

The atmosphere is reasonable but the staff are incredibly rude and disrespectful. I've never been to a bar with such rude staff who have no respect for the customer and glare at you like you've asked them to kill a puppy. Will not be returning.

We stopped in and had the cheese platter, fish dish with quinoa, and a coffee. Very pleasant ambience right by canal saint Martin. The food was good and the service was very friendly. There was also a gentleman on the corner with some wine enjoying a morning buzz. Worth a stop if you're in the mood to relax, eat and... More

This is a great location and café next to canal saint martin. Its very popular with the locals and travellers. The only thing I didn't like was the smelly dark toilet. It was awful.

Chez prune is great. Packed with people, so you have to be ready to run for the first free table. Cocktails are good, and we had a cheese and ham plate that was perfect! The mood is one the best.

This review is for a visit I made in June 2015, so things may have changed. It was busy and enjoyable for lunch, and I enjoyed walking along the canal after lunch. As usual, I ordered after seeing what others around me had on their plates. I started with lamb, intending to skip dessert. Then I saw a cheesecake that... More
