The perfect start to our trip to Paris - traditional French food with excellent service. We arrived early for our booking and they gave us delicious asparagus soup on the house “for the wait” ! Even without the free starter it was very reasonably priced...and had a lovely atmosphere with lots of locals - always a good sign! The best crème brûlée I’ve ever had too…More

This is not a restaurant where a young chef produces his latest creation. It is one where the chef knows what he does well, and does it. I have the impression that the menu had changed little since we ate here eight years ago -...but why should it when the food is so good? Best dish this time were the Noix de Saint Jacques - excellent fresh scallops cooked just right. Service professional, space a little tight.More

We found this restaurant on Google, looking for a place that served cassoulet in the part of Paris we were staying in. The group I was traveling with were unanimous in our opinions that this was the best food we had eaten in our 10...days in France (and we ate well the entire trip, so this was truly the best of the best). The proprietor was charming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the menu was varied with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. My cassoulet fantastic, as was the asparagus soup I had as an appetizer. My four friends were equally thrilled with their meals. I unreservedly recommend - but make reservations. It filled up very quickly while we were there, relatively early on a Saturday night.More

We have visited Paris 10 times, and this is our favorite restaurant. It is small and elegant, yet very friendly. The food is beautifully prepared. You can’t go wrong with whatever you order. Our favorites are the duck breast and the sea bream. The wine...list will accommodate all preferences. We are in Paris for long term and we will be regular visitors.More

We ate lunch here following morning stops at the Victor Hugo house and the Carnavalet Museum. The restaurants features food from Périgord. It was on a side street away from the hustle and bustle of the Place des Vosges. My husband ate a vegetarian puff...pastry dish and I had half-cooked salmon (turned out to be similar to sushi, with black and white sesame seeds on the outside), both of which were excellent. The desserts were also very good. The service was friendly. We were glad we found this place!More

We had a delicious meal last night with attentive service and wonderful food. We shared mi cuit salmon and a vegetable millefeuille to start. Both excellent and had fish and lamb respectively for our main courses. Also interesting and tasty. Couldn’t resist a dessert..I particularly...enjoyed my pear sorbet. Would definitely return on another visit to Paris.More

Amaizing food and service. We had a great dinner on Christmas Eve. The food was superb! The duck confit is one of the best I’ve had in Paris and the desserts were amazing. I first visited this restaurant in 2009. After tasting the food, we canceled the next nights reservation and went back. Since then every time I am in Paris, I make sure to dine here. The food is utterly delicious. Prepared with finesse and incredible skill....To me, it is the taste of Paris. Highly recommend the duck confit and the cassoulet. The wine selection has something for everyone. Truly my favorite place to dine in Paris.More

Tiny spot in a quiet beautiful neighborhood. We came for cassoulet - and baby we found it! Absolute perfection! Rich and flavorful… so nice we had it twice! Disappointing on our second visit and had a decidedly “pile them high” tourist feel to the place. Food was still delicious but didn’t feel overly authentic. Disappointed that our five year old was asked to move to the banquette so they could take his chair....Sadly won’t be retuning.More

Hands-down among my favorite authentic French restos. Located in Les Marais, one of the coolest Parisian neighborhoods, Bistro de L'Oulette offers an elegant yet homey vibe complemented by beautifully presented plates. I highly recommend the duck confit and the shredded rabbit. The owners ensured we...were warmly welcomed every time we went to the restaurant. One of the locals initially turned me on to this resto, as I wanted to avoid tourist traps, and I'm glad he did. If you feel the same and want to enjoy an authentic French dining experience, treat yourself to a meal here. Be sure to check out the neighbor, a wine bar, BUBAR. One of Paris's best-kept secrets, BUBAR is unlabeled and just down the street.More
