After a few days of supercilious waiters, mediocre food, packed spaces and outrageous prices, this was water in the desert. Human service, excellent food (souris d'agneau - lamb shank - was delicious), extensive but sensible wine list, well-spaced tables... a very fortunate discovery.

This place was recommended by out hotel staff. It was wonderful. The decor is brass, woodwork and mirrors. There's a guy outside with oysters and other shellfish and if you order any he brings them in. I had the 'all included' special so I don't know what wine. For starters I had the legumes with bacon. I didn't really like... More

I came here for a midweek solo dinner as I was staying in Paris with work. The concierge in my hotel recommended it so I gave it a go. A proper little Parisian bistro with professional waiters offering excellent service and a good menu. I had 6 oysters (there's a little oyster stall outside the restaurant), a roasted rib of... I was there on my solo holiday. I sat at a table for one in the room with tall ceiling. The waiters were super nice. The food was amazing and at great value! Lunch was 37 euros nett with wine, water, coffee along the 3 course meal. Real French fare. Perfect.

Our concierge recommended this place, and we were so delighted she did. My husband had delicious steak tartare and escargots; I had an interesting smoked whitefish (but warm) in a light, creamy white sauce, with spinach. Our food was delicious, and the service was friendly, warm and seamless. I enjoyed a nice Venetian Pinot Grigio; my husband had a beer.... More

I celebrated my birthday with two other couples and it was fantastic. The atmosphere, food and staff were all excellent. The restaurant is several luxurious rooms and it's well worth a walk upstairs to see all the famous people who have eaten there over many years! Really would recommend this to anyone visiting Paris and wanting something very typically French.

A group of colleagues (10 people mostly American) made a reservation at the recommendation of our hotel concierge - we were looking for a place where we could have our own room so we could have business discussions and not bother other diners. Au Petite Riche delivered on this, providing a semi-private room as well as professional great service, great... More

Food // was really good, they do have options for veggies. The vanilla Creme brulee was delicious. They have an English menu, which was really helpful for my decision. You should be aware that the dishes are really 'classic' (i assume) and ... well, for me at least uncommon parts of meat are a lot in the menu (cheeks, brain?,... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
