Not sure why it took us 3 years to return to what our first 2 visits invited designation as a “Favorite”. Food very good, and unusual. 18€ for 2 course formula lunch, outstanding – at any price. Ravioli Royan (tiny ravioli filled with cheese and herbs), followed by roast cod or sliced fresh sausage with potatoes aligot (mashed with cheese).... More

We returned here after a trip to Paris several years ago as this was one of our favorite meals previously. We again had a wonderful meal. I had ravioli with truffles that melted in my mouth; it was absolutely perfect. The spinach accompanying the dish was perfect. The fruit soup dessert was perfect; light and just right after a great... More

We've been here many times over the years and the quality is consistent: Authentic Basque food cooked to a very high quality. Very charming small bistro, cute neighborhood place. But over the years it's been discovered and is now way more popular and active than we remembered. Make a reservation. It's a fun charming spot.

Whenever I get to Paris, I head for au Bascou. (except in August, when it's on fermature annuelle.) And then I order boudin de pays au piment d'espelette--boudin Basque. Not the morcilla from Spain, nor its counterpart, boudin noir from the Jura region in France. They're much too lean for my taste and are meant for frying in slabs. The... More

Place is not beautiful but the food is. Old place, amazing food. I came back 3 times for the truffled ravioli... Everything else I tried was just great.

The restaurant doesn't look much from the front but it is bigger inside. The service was good and the food was to die for. We were looking for authentic French cuisine and we found it. We had escargot for starter in a lovely tomato and herb sauce. For main I had delicious sliced duck in an orange jus with roast... More

Just a great meal and a wine new to me from the Basque region. The food and the wine were both wonderful. We had not eaten here for several years,no reason, just away. It was better than ever. Great service too.

Au Bascou is a good neighbourhood restaurant, the kind you like to have in reserve when you want to go out to eat, but you maybe don't feel like the totally immersive Parisian fine dining experience. It is also quite small and easy to miss, but is well worth seeking out. Both food and wine are good, but a bit... More

Lovely dinner. Just ravioli with white truffle sauce cooked to perfection. And one friend had the scallops, delicately cooked. The dessert was perfect; light Mille feuilles traditionally done. We chose the house wine at our waiters suggestion. The service was attentive, but not overbearing.

You could walk pass this restaurant without a 2nd thought and it would be a huge mistake . Just wonderful food and service . We were 3 friends , all had the tasting menu and all agreed a wonderful French eating experience. It's quite small so probably best to reserve.
