I recently went to La reine des Tartes for a late lunch. I’m not sure if it was because we went so late in the day, but the food wasn’t as fresh as I was expecting. I split the leek risotto and the chicken curry quiche with my friend. My mom had the vegetable quiche. For dessert, two of us... More

The quality of the food is flavorful and excellent as is the the attentive service by the owner and chef. She is so charming and her English perfect. Also willing to give directions and our expectations were far surpassed. I want to go there one more time while in Paris.

My boyfriend and I had a great lunch here! I had the best quiche I have ever had! It was the chicken curry quiche. I really recommend it!! Definitely worth coming to!! The owner of the restaurant was also the waitress and she was so lovely and helpful. My boyfriend has a lot of allergies and she was very accommodating... More

This place is not fancy, in fact it's quite simple but has a lot of charm. We went for a late lunch. It is a small cozy place, that exceeded the expectations of the initial impression. The menu seems to change from day to day; the day we went they had a list of excellent quiches (I got a chicken... More

Went solo to Paris in December 2012. Made a point to stop by La Reine des Tartes due to the TripAdvisor reviews. I was staying near the Tuilieries so this was a jaunt. Per others, I stopped in around 2PM and there was still a packed house from lunch. I ordered the duck quiche and a glass of wine. A... More

We visited about 3pm on a November Saturday afternoon. This place is a one-off. The unusual teas were delicious and served in black Oriental pots, and the cheesecake with coulis was delicious too - not too sweet - perfect. We had a pot of tea each, and shared a cheesecake. The bill was about 17 euros. See the other reviews... More

My wife and I and another couple splurged on a seven-day sojourn in August in Paris, including eating lunch or supper in twelve restaurants, almost all of them ranked among the top 150 eateries listed on the Trip Adviser. Seek and you shall find. Are you looking for a small charming restaurant for a pleasant lunch or for a very... More

We read good things here about La Reine and decided, at the end of a long day at Versaille, that we didn't realy want a heavy dinner, and something like a late lunch might work. Plus, La Reine is within a (nice) walking distance of our hotel (Grand Hotel St. Michelle). We arrived a little after 6PM and the place... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
