We tried this place randomly as we were having a drink nearby. The food is definitely worth a visit! The Korean BBQ was amazing and the venue is charming.

Shingane in a neighborhood gem, perfect for a lunch or dinner after a visit to Pere Lachaise, which offers a broad menu of appetizers, bimbimbaps, and BBQ that you cook yourself at the table. Fun for large groups. Reasonably priced. Reservation is recommended in the evening as shingane is a victim of its success.

If Ill be in this strange area again I will defenitly go again to Shingane. The all ceremony of cooking the food is a great expirience and the taste - amazing. A big recommendation on Menu number 2.

This restaurant used to be perfect. But unfortunately the vibe has changed a lot. The food was not as good, still it's affordable and fresh. But I didn't have the same experience at all compared to a year ago.

I think a lot of these hyperbolic reviews must be fake because seriously, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Basically, we arrived hungry and expecting something special, and what we got was a tiny (starter size in the UK) bit of raw meat to cook ourselves, a little bit of plain rice and a few... More

First time i was taken here by my husband for my birthday as it was not far from where we live and I am known for my passion for Korea. Oh, it was the best present ever! (aside from presents))) Since then we have been here uncountable amount of times.. And even though we don't live in paris anymore, every... More

We were in the mood for Korean BBQ but didn't have high expectations of finding a decent place in Paris. We were wrong! We saw the wonderful reviews on TA and hopped on the metro. Fortunately, Shingane was just a few blocks from the nearest train stop. When we arrived the place was packed - it was 10pm on a... More

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
