Had another pleasant lunch here. It filled up quickly, packing them in cheek to jowl, and their team was very busy. We like their food and the local resto ambiance, and their prices are reasonable. We were going to order aperitifs, but it took awhile for our server to take our order (the group beside us arrived after we did and were served drinks and food before our order was even taken). So, in the interest of time, we decided to skip the aperitifs. We enjoyed a tartine savoyarde, a cuisse de canard, fish and chips, and a burger. For dessert their gateau au chocolat was delicious, as was their creme brûlée. We’re always amazed that so few staff can manage to get so many fed in an hour and a half. We highly recommend.

Amazing place! Prices are super affordable, portions are huge and food is really good (tastes like homemade).
Also staff is super friendly and nice.
The interior is really cozy and nice.
I would definitely recommend trying raw salmon tartar. So good!

The food here was great, and compared to other places in the area it was really inexpensive. Only downside is that they really pack people in there, so it may not be the most comfortable place. They did check for vaccine cards/green pass/health pass though, which most other restaurants we’ve been to in Paris really haven’t been.

Very weird experience.
I booked a few days ago. However, when we arrived, they said it's not possible because they only do bookings until 12.30.
We finally got a table.
Ordering 1 min after my two friends, my dish arrived 40 min after theirs!
And it was the dish of the day!
Overall, only two waiters for the full floor are not enough. I saw lots of people waiting a long time even before getting the Menu.
Affordable meal compared to Paris standard. But quality is average and food is simple.

After reading multiple reviews online we decided to give it a shot while visiting Paris. The inside is a little tight but the food was great and was affordable. Staff was helpful and it didn’t feel uptight or overpriced like some other places we visited. It was simply good food at good prices, even though it is walking distance from Musee d’Orsay and the Louvre. I highly recommend this secret gem to anyone looking for a great little French bistro

We ate both lunch and dinner here. The menu is typical of many French bistros, and it's well prepared. We had chicken, duck, beef, and pasta in our visits, all tasty, with good sized potions. The service was very friendly, and prompt, although we were never rushed. There are many places of Rue du Bac, and L'Empire is a less pricey alternative to some of the others. I recommend it.

We found this restaurant while looking for a place that was open for food and drinks before 7PM. This is a typical French restaurant with a limited but delicious menu. There were several families with young children. The salads were fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly.

We eat here every time we come to Paris. The best duck confit ever (amazing potatos as side dish), portions are generous, the prices are more than reasonable for Paris. Make sure to come here no later than noon for lunch as place fills up quickly.
Biggest ever serving of crème brûlée in my life.

Great place, good service and food for a very affordable price. We eat meat and pasta. Meat (chicken and beef) was good but the pasta was a little bit overcooked. Creme brulee was great. Waiter was very helpful.

Only two blocks from our hotel this gem was simply amazing in every way. Staff was incredibly accommodating to our party of 5. Best onion soup all week and dinner options were plentiful. Duck, steak, chicken and salad every meal was truly delicious. Chocolate dessert was of course, fabulous! Thank you for making our last night in Paris memorable. Until next time!!

We came here by walking around and found this nice little restaurant. We liked it very much. The daily offer has a choice of three at 10,90€. In the end we had three courses at 22€ and it was delicious. Staff and atmosphere are very nice. To be recommended of you are near Louvre.

Wonderful neighborhood cafe close to Musée d’Orsay. What I would call excellent French comfort food. Delicious escargots, duck confit and roast duck. A simple carafe of Cotes de Rhône red to complement a reasonably priced and excellent meal ( not always easy to find in this city ). Great ambiance and very attentive and friendly service as well.

Loved this sweet cafe in every dimension. Exactly what I was hoping to find. The food was really fresh and delicious, great prices (<$20 dinner w/ wine), "eclectic" seating, friendly service, clearly enjoyed by the locals with a lot of conversation. Smallish dining area opens to the street for outdoor seating. Cozy and perfect. Had two different dinners and would have returned for a third had there not been a private party renting.

I came into this cafe after my visit to Musée d’Orsay. Like me, other tourists were looking for a place where to have lunch, so the place was very packed. Nevertheless, I was seated in a very short time.
Tables are really close to each other, that’s something to deal with and, besides, it looks so typically French.
What I mostly appreciated was the waiter being very fast and professional. Although the place was extremely busy, no signs of stress and I was greeted with a smile when I left. It is always important to me to be respected as a customer...

Have been to Cafe l'Empire a couple of times before. Had lunch there on Sunday 16 April. Good food, quick service and very reasonably priced. Huge salads with plenty meat, chicken or fish for around 14 euros. Plat de jour was guinea fowl with sautéed potatoes, for about the same price.Very busy but don't be put off. Wait a few minutes and you will soon have a table. Great atmosphere and very convenient for a meal before or after a visit to the Musee d'Orsay.
