Excellent foie gras with a good cassoulet au piment d'espelette. The service was friendly with a warm welcome.

Family of four, washing fruit in the street, the lady from this restaurant came out and offered for us to come inside and use her sink to wash our fruit. Then proceeded to fill our drink bottles with chilled water. We couldn't have a meal as we had just had a late breakfast. I just needed to praise this lovely... More

We were searching for a place to have cassoulet. We found it here and were glad we did. It was very tasty and a great value. My husband and I ordered the $27.00 plate. We shared the onion soup, very good, the cassoulet, also very good and the apple dessert with vanilla ice-cream was wonderful. The amazing part was that... More

Stopped by this family run charcuterie, which has won a gold medal in 2014 and 2015 for their Foie Gras de Canard Entier mi-cuit. they serve a portion for lunch, as well as Coq au Vin that is good sized and tasty. After unch go next door and pick some things from the butcher counter.

Was a Saturday night, place was packed (which is why we decided to choose it.) Table seating was tight but or neighbors were friendly and accommodating. We were looking for a genuine "French" dining experience without spending lots of cash. This place fits the bill to a tee. A French country atmosphere with SW country cuisine, it appears to be... A very nice restaurant, efficiently representing the south-west cuisine of France. Delicious foie-gras recipes (south-western style), and impeccable cassoulet!

Happened to stumble on this little gem, ambience is very homely and warm, service was quick and easy to order, menu translated into English and good half bottles of wine available. It specialises in duck/foie gras dishes from the SE of France. We chose the menu Délice and menu terroir with which we chose onion soup and foie gras for... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant today and the food at lunchtime was superb. I had the 3 course meal including Duck foie gras, Duck magret and a dessert. my wife had roast wood pigeon. The service was impeccable, the food beautifully cooked, the prices reasonable and this restaurant should never be graded as trip adviser has it graded.... More

The blurb about specializing in duck and food from the SE of France had us salivating. Unfortunately that was the only highlight. The duck and coq au vin were tough as old boots and the pork and sausage in beans so tasteless they barely got touched. One of the beans meal did come with a bonus hair that looked like... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
