I'd agree with the assessment of most reviews for this sweet little spot. The Pavé Irish black angus steak was terrific. Although as everywhere in Paris, give up on ordering anything medium or medium rare. In this town they give it to you RARE every time. Having said that, I'm used to it now. Make sure to order their fries.... More

Intimate typically French restaurant that serves the most succulent steaks. Famous locally for offering a really good selection of prime cuts for true carnivores. But be warned, no fish options and only 1 token meat free dish available. Very busy, booking essential.

Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. It's a small, cozy place packed with locals which was exactly what we were looking for. Grabbed a couple of small tables together (there were 5 of us) right in the middle. Service was good, very attentive. The burrata appetizer was tasty and just the right consistency. Ordered the steak which came out very fast... More

Really great selection of wines. The staff are very knowledgeable on both wine and steak. Will return in June!

I had a great meal here, I was travelling by myself and was made to feel very welcome and they helped me with the menu given my French was limited. The wine they recommended was spot on and not expensive, the food was beautiful!

A fantastic, small cosy restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. The steak house delivered great juicy steak and wonderful wine. This is a must eat place in Paris.

We walked past this restaurant a couple of times whilst trying to find it & nearly went into one of the larger restaurants nearby. Thank goodness we didn't. A delightful little French restaurant perfect for lunch. Steak and frites delicious, as was the salad of the day. Wondering if a salad will be sufficient?, well don't. I was really quite... More

I cannot heap enough praise on this restaurant. From the amazing, consistently superb food, to the service and decor, it is one of my city favorites. Go for the meat. Its perfect. Be sure to book as it gets insanely packed. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Try to get a table downstairs... much nicer..

My French friend recommend this place and I cant be more thankful for that. Very cozy atmosphere with nice, helpful and very outgoing service and great food! In the restaurant there were only French people but the stuff spoke good English. All of us have ordered snails, steaks with friends and lime tart. And I can frankly say the steak... More

L'Aller Retour is everything I was hoping to find in a Paris restaurant; cozy, great food, great wine, and filled with locals. We showed up without reservations, but were able to snag a two top by the window. Over the next 3.5 hours we dined on foie gras, perfectly cooked boeuf, frites, fondant, and enjoyed two delicious bottles of Burgundy,... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
