This was our introduction to Paris. It was one of the few recommended restaurants open for dinner on Monday. Walkable from where we were staying, it's in a wonderful area to explore. We were early, so we felt very well taken care of by our two young servers. The atmosphere is ideal, just casual enough, with a touch of old... More

French food at its best: simple (or looks simple!) and perfectly done. The agneau Champvallon was tasty and perfectly cooked. The crème Caramel has a nice texture and again tasty. Nice selection of wine. And they serve you a superb expresso as you cannot find nowadays in Paris ( and it is a pity as this market is dominated by... More

This tiny space just north of Les Jardins du Palais Royal is a delicious spot to enjoy lunch or dinner. Their steak frites is simple and well done, which I think describes their overall style. The dessert was a surprise- a citron sorbet drizzled with olive oil, fresh thyme and bittersweet chocolate bits, so odd but so good. The service... More

The atmosphere is very grey flannel suit. So near the Bourse, you expect people to come from business to relax in this place. The food is very fine. Excellent quality. Excellent preparation. Pleasant and unusual wait-staff. Must return.

I was excited to go to this restaurant and this did not disappoint. We visited this restaurant for my fiancée birthday celebrations in Paris and we both had a great time. While ours was a couples visit, it feels like a restaurant for all occasions. This restaurant is situated on a quiet Bourse street but the restaurant feels special. The... More

We had a 7pm dinner reservation with friends. Needless to say we were late, not taking into account Friday night traffic. I had read on the website that they only keep reservations for a quarter of an hour so had our friends phone ahead to request that they please hold our reservation, which they did but we were told to... We visited after a long time of anticipation, based on the glowing reviews of local food bloggers. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place with good service. The food is good and the menu limited to seasonable specialties. All said, I was not blown away and don't think it belongs on any top 10 lists in Paris. However,... More

Friendly staff, great food and wine! Their oysters as starter are simply fabulous. After the main course, you have to order the cream caramel which is something special! Amazing experience in Paris!

I am a huge fan of Chef Daniel Rose and had the most amazing meal at Spring two years ago. I'd been dying to eat at La Bourse et la Vie and saved it for my last night in Paris assuming it would be the best meal of my trip. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed with pretty much everything. The... More

We ended up at La Bourse et La Vie by accident: we had reservations at the sister restaurant, Spring, but when we arrived, it was unexpectedly closed. The note on the door said to try a couple related restaurants in the area, and so we called La Bourse et La Vie and explained our predicament, and they were happy to... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
