Despite our better judgment (we had just eaten some delicious take-away about half a block down), we decided to try this place out in a more formal sit-down setting. Really, we were just looking for a couple of hot beverages to keep us warm on a blisteringly cold day. The restaurant is quite literally in front of the Notre Dame... More

We had been there for coffee before as it is a good location when visiting Ile de la Cite. Went back for lunch and I tried their steak tartare. It tasted good. However, cleanliness of a kitchen and handling of raw meat is paramount for this type of dish, and I was pretty sick that night. A first in Paris!... More

Omelet was decent but Drinks were Too Expensive! We had our brunch at this establishment. Location was good because the restaurant was beside the Notre Dame Cathedral. Our waiter was very friendly and funny. Their Omelet was decent but their Ham sandwich was not so good, a kind of day old sandwich, I felt. On top of that they charged... More

Warning to others! Great position by Notre Dame. Expected drinks to be expensive - coffee and a beer €16.50. Waiter polite and drinks fine. Offered credit card for payment. Waiter said, "You want to sign..?" and disappeared with the card, which is not something that should happen. Returned a moment later with card machine and offered it to me for... More

This cafe is RIGHT across the street from the cathedral. It's a great place to sit down, have a glass of wine or sandwich and people watch. The food is good and the service prompt and friendly.

We stopped as I ate here several years ago and thought it would be a cool photo op to replicate. The food isn't bad, about average for the city but very highly priced which is expected given the location but definitely not worth the price. You can walk a block down and get something at half the price. But you... More

Very enthusiastic waiter who spoke English. Enjoyed our drinks and watching the world go by. Although touristy had a Parisian feel about it.

This cafe is perfectly located just across the road from Notre Dame. It was a hot day when we dropped in for a refreshing drink and somthing to eat and this place provided the perfect fare. We ordered a lemon infused lemonade with a mint syrup and this was seriously tasty and refreshing, definitely hit the spot! We also opted... More

Nice location but worst place to stay for donner or lunch. Very puchy staff smilling at you for the 10 euros beer they will charge you. Nothing gastronomie. You will be very disapointed. 100 pourcents about evrythings

This is a special spot right on the corner beside the Notre Dame church - a great place to rest your weary feet and to just watch people go by and soak up the Paris atmosphere. Great menu for lunches and dinners - and excellent drinks menu. We were there in the peak of summer - so just wanted very... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
