4 Americans on vacation out late. They were open. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had burgers which were better than we expected. Fries were crisp and delicious. Salad was a nice, healthy addition to plate. Glad we stopped in.

Had to return to this as it was close, open late, and the first bowl of soup was so excellent, had to come back. The soup is not a fluke. Absolutely the best. Also tried the Croque Monsiur and fries. Best, again, that I've ever...More

This was our first meal since arriving in Paris and it was a good introduction to French dining outside on the street side. The flank steak with salad and fries was good. I wasn't thrilled with my chicken Caesar salad but it did have nice...More

This is a marvellous piece of French culinary history. It's been in the same spot for God knows how long... certainly since the 1930s. Traditionally it fed the market workers of Les Halles and when the market was demolished (some might say vandalised) in the...More

Right beside the new Halles, "Au Chien qui Fume" is a lovely place to stay for many reasons like the perfect location and the great athmosphere. The traditional style environment leads to a very good offer of dishes, both for fish and meat.

I ilked the waiters' humor, he may not have liked mine :-) the oysters were delicious and the fish was fresh and served without bones. Shame sauce was cold and rice my partner had was tasteless : a risotto should have no cream, at least...More

It started badly when we arrived at a busy restaurant with no inside tables available. I had booked prior to arrival only to be waved away when this was mentioned. We were eventually seated inside, after being offered an outside table which we were reluctant...More

We were very glad to have this restaurant not far from our hotel, since it was especially helpful for a spontaneous lunch or dinner without reservation. Good quality of food and friendly servicing staff, right price / performance ratio. It slightly reminds of a high...More

We stopped here one evening to have supper. We were very surprised at the excellent service and fine food. We were in the mood for pasta, and were not disappointed. The pasta was excellent, and as delicious as any that we have had, including Rome....More

Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it
houses the main shopping mall, which nestles
underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and
international restaurants coupled with beautiful
churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to
