This restaurant is located just off the main path of Blvde de Clichy for the Pigalle tourists and nondescript enough that it's not noticed easily by those making their way down the gentrified market street of Martyrs. I have been here twice at nearly two years' time difference and the place has remained a high quality spot. The food is... More

I sent to this restaurant as a sole non-French speaking diner. The staff were wonderful - welcoming, attentive and very generous with extra little (free) bits provided with the meal - including a liqueur. The food was fabulous - all cooked on-site, and it had a very nice ambiance. I will be a regular visitor whenever I am in Paris.

This place is such a great find on the Rue st Martyrs, and i would highly recommend it. Friends came a few years ago and recimmended it, and it certainly hasnt changed since. We had lunch and although not busy we still got the sense of a homely rustic cafe, nothing like the other 'bistrots' around it. We had a... More

Food was very good, as was the wine. Particularly enjoyed the spacious layout - the vast majority of French establishments have you crammed in on top of each other. Waiting staff attentive and knowledgeable. Would def go back.

This inconspicuous little restaurant on the rue des Martyrs in Montmartre was a delightful find for lunch after walking all the way up the long hill to Sacre Coeur and back. It is fairly plain and simple inside, but don't let that put you off. The owner and his two right hand men were warm and welcoming, they all spoke... More

Carming place, welcomed warmly, cozy atmosphere, one old stone wall, one brick! Could have eaten most of the menu but settled on one of my favorites, Quenelles. One large one beautifully served in casserole with spinach, mushrooms, carrots,,celerie, divine sauce. Skipped starters due to jet lag and the hot beef consommé amuse bouche but ready for dessert. Thought the Surprise... More

Welcoming staff who offered us a soup as sd arrived, free of charge. Were recommended a cocktail that we tried, which not impressed us considering the cost of 10€. The food was descent. Nothing spectacular or memorable. The meat was ok. Fish OK+. Good wine recommendations at a nice price level

My daughter and I visited Paris in January, not long after the terrorist shootings. After a morning and early afternoon of touring, we stumbled upon this restaurant for a late lunch. Though they were near the closing time for lunch, they accommodated us and we had a wonderful three-course lunch, and a fine bottle of Chablis. The nuance and quality... More

This was our second visit to this restaurant after 2 years, and were expecting a similar gatranomic experience as we once had. The other reason we chose to revisit this restaurant was because it rated quiet highly on TripAdvisor. Anyway we booked for 8.30pm on a Saturday evening and was seated promtly. Looking through the menu we decided to opt... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
