This is one of the last real local restaurants. Cheap, simple typical family food! I am going there for lunch and dinner as often as i can :)

Forget swish décor this place has been around for decades and the decor confirms it.....but don't get me wrong this is not a criticism...it's a place frequented by locals and few tourists, you'll meet them and the owners Claude and his Dutch wife are charming, delightful and hospitable as you could ever want. The cuisine is home made, fresh and... More

Have been to this restaurant a few times before and it has a cheapish set price menu at lunch with only a few choices. Food is honest and varies form OK to not so great. I had a rather tough duck leg and a reasonably nice panna cotta, washed down with OK wine. Waitress was not overly friendly and there... More

Yes this place is a real find. I hesitate to share news of a really good authentic bistro in the touristy Mouffetard, but this is lovely. Very local. Blackened cloudy old mirrors along the wall, tiny space crammed with locals. We had the rabbit leg in mustard, and it was fantastic. Really cheap. The only downside is the view, staring... More

Probably the best rabbit in mustard I have ever eaten, very quaffable wine and a superbly light and flavour-packed clafoutis de brugnons. Delightful couple running the place and although not big, it was full of French, which speaks volumes. The decor looks untouched and the WC is an experience, but the food was wonderful, really. And totally affordable. A must-go-to... More

This wee cafe is our providential place to stop while bustling about on Rue Mouffetard. Its an old fashioned bistro with timeless decor giving it a Boho ambiance. We sit with students, local store-keepers, artists and retired teachers. I wonder is its the antique cast-iron stove, quaint tiles and old burnished wooden chairs and tables with well priced food and... More

Had a great meal here on our last night in Paris. It's not fine dining, and nor does it pretend to be, but if you want a decent meal, for a decent price, with good wine, then this is your place.

Had dinner by myself and was lucky to have a very friendly and nice bartender, I think his name was Gwer. Simple and good food, reasonable prices, and located on a lovely charming market street.

A nice place to have a rest and a good glas of wine while walking through this attractive part of Paris. You won't feel ripped off, paying only 3,5 euro for a decent glas of sauvignon, or one of the other open wines on offer. Just one warning for ladies who need to use the toilet - it is an... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
