The food at Frenchie was OK, but lacked focus, most dishes suffering from a too-busy combination of flavours and textures. If I was scoring Septime out of 10 I'd give it 8.5. I'd give Frenchie maybe 6.5, 7 if I was feeling generous. Sadly, I'm not feeling generous. We ordered what we thought was the menu - 5 courses for... More

It was so hard to get a reservation in this restaurant. But we were so happy with our dinner. Best meal in Paris! This is a tiny restaurant serving innovative French dishes. There is no menu, just what the chef has for the day. Enjoy the surprise because you will love every morsel. Service was great too. Servers were attentive... More

Exquisite food, wonderful, friendly, young wait staff - small only 8 tables seating 16-20 people max. Only 2 seatings- 6:30 and 9:00 PM. Book a month in advance- they don't accept reservations any earlier and by 3.5 weeks the day is sold out. No menu- it is a surprise, with 5 courses with an amuse bouche or 2. The tab... More

My sister has raved about this restaurant for the past year. It is deemed her most favorite restaurant on earth and now I know why. She and I decided to take her children on a quick trip to Paris and the first thing she did was make reservations for the lunch service. The day after landing in Paris our reservation... More

This wine bar and restaurant on a tiny street in Paris, is one you will wish to visit. While they take reservations for lunch, there are no reservations for dinner, but well worth the wait. Was there with my adult daughter for dinner Monday evening, had wine at the bar and waited approximately 30 minutes for a table. The environment... More

It can be hard for any restaurant to live up to expectations when you make a booking months out from another country. But this was a very special experience. There is an interesting ethos/attitude to the place, the staff and the food and it works brilliantly. We did the wine pairing as well. Brilliant. Hope to go again one day.

We arrived at the wine bar 2 minutes before it was due to open having taken a 30 minute cab... the bar man who was eating repeated three times "bon soir" even though I asked each time if he was open. So rude, good by rude frenchie.

This was my third trip to Paris in the last six years, on our last trip after seeing Anthony Bourdain's Paris show that featured this restaurant we tried to make a reservation but couldn't get one.We did this time and it was worth the wait.It was without a doubt the best meal I have ever had.We arrived there at noon... Just loving this casual space, have visited here before while in Paris and never gained a seat. Its small, 25 seater but worth effort. Worldly food and wines likewise (COS from Sicily and using taramasalata and burrata ingredients). Be patient and gaggle from a magnum of Blanc de Noirs from Godet-Medeville in Ay, healthy pours standing up at the tiny... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
