I went for dinner, the place was crowded, very noisy, hard to speak with your neighbour. Space at table is minimal, service was long, eventually food was good, but expensive.

We went early on a Tuesday evening and we were the only ones there. This meant a lack of atmosphere but this is the only criticism. The food is excellent. I think the main expertise is seafood, but I had steak and it perfectly prepared. I'm told the place is packed towards the end of the week so I guess... More

Food was surprisingly great for a bar-disco place. My friend had a nice birthday greeting with a little cake and candle on it. The dancefloor opened so late and the music was not our taste, I requested for disco music as we were leaving anyway shortly after 6 songs. but the DJ was unattentive to our request. I asked again... Me and my wife had visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday, as the last day of our stay in Paris, in June, 2013. We were looking for a special place to celebrate our trip. This restaurant has a contemporaneous ambience, the tables are downstairs, the decor is modern and nice, the lights are low, the music was good... More

Had a lovely meal with a couple of my friends celebrating my 21st Birthday. The restaurant was modern and trendy, we went on a Friday night and it was quite quiet, however the waiters were very attentive and helpful with translating the menu for us. The food was delicious and the waiters were great, they gave us a free bottle... More

That Barramundi was close to our hotel on a grim damp Wednesday evening was just about the only thing positive I can muster to say about this dispiriting experience. A cavernous basement with a lazy buddha bar interior swallowed up the handful of diners who had made the same mistake as us in venturing here. The service was neglectful bordering... More

Description
The restaurant, bar and lounge Barramundi is in the heart of the Paris shopping district near the famous Boulevard Haussmann. It is a magical place dedicated to creating a party atmosphere. The entrance is overwhelming with great Indian doors, African statues and primitive frescos painted on the walls. Like the décor and the music the cuisine is a mix of modern French and world fusion. King prawns in a coconut sauce, guinea fowl in a satay sauce with apples and cinnamon. Whether you classical French or more exotic and innovative dishes you will find something at Barramundi. After the dinner service is over Barramundi becomes a cool and laidback lounge bar allowing diners or revellers to remain late into the night.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
