We stopped at Paul's bakery before our flight to Barcelona and picked up croissants, quiche and mini beignets. All were fantastic and very fresh. We will make it a point to stop here again when visiting Paris. I highly recommend stopping in and trying a pastry.

I was in Paris for 10 days last time I visited and I went here every day for lunch. Not always this specific location, but to A Paul Bakery every day because their sandwiches are soooo good. I got La Savoureux, which is salami, pickles and butter. Then I had a macaron with it, because why wouldn't you have a... More

The feeling that you have overpaid for nothing... Very average, like Carrefour store... It seems that they buy wholesale there and sell for much more

This family restaurant has been in Paris since 1889. Such a selection of pastries and breads. People in the neighborhood come in everyday for their bread, while the tourists come for the delicious bakery items and for their food in the restaurant. Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, Paul's will give you the best meal for your money.... More

Oh, how I would love a Paul in California!! This chain...I say that because while I am in Paris for the month, I have already eaten at 3 locations (one at the Louvre) and all wonderful. The quality on the bread and meats and cheeses are wonderful. Salads - fresh and delicious. The chocolate torte was unbelievable! Don't miss as... More

Before our trip to Paris last week, our plan for breakfasts to be cafe creme and croissants every morning in a local spot. Unfortunately, we found ourselves lazy and slow to get moving in the morning, so we just had French press coffee in our apartment and skipped breakfast in favor of hardy lunches. However, I wasn't going to leave... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
