We came here for a last minute dinner when we got caught in the rain on a Thursday evening. The staff were so welcoming and helpful in fitting us in what was a busy night! This place is great, as it is off the beaten track. Classic French food on offer and lovely wines. Small and tables close together, but... More

Was staying just around the corner in the Marriott Opera. It an easy 5 minute walk. Great atmosphere and very tolerant and helpful staff. Liked the menu on the blackboard. Steaks were excellent. I had the steak three ways which was really superb. Starters were good too. All in all a great night - good value and very authentic. Best... More

We had reservations placed 1 day in advance. She had confit de canard, I had entrcote. Both were cooked to perfection, the service was unquestionable and the atmosphere was delightful. 100 euros for 2 mains, one dessert, 2 glasses of champagne and a bottle of red felt like a steal. Absolutely a reccomended place ti visit! Complementary spiritus at the... More

food is good, very narrow space (eating alone means you are basically listening to anything they are saying in the table next to you) , cakes in the dessert list are on first come first serve basis (so maybe book it when you get in) Big portions, reasonable prices.

What a lovely little French restaurant in Paris. When we arrived we had to wait a short time for a table as it is a small restaurant and it was very busy, about 830pm, the head waiter bought us some bread and wine to keep us going, which was a nice touch. And the main event was stunning , quality... More

Why is it that I always seem to find my favorite places on the last night of my trip? We tried to have lunch here first, but it was too close to closing (and they were still packed). It looked so good we made our reservation. The restaurant is small, the tables close together with great service and food. The... More

This was a real gem. It came from a recommendation from a friend who had been there a few months before me. It is small- and we did not have a reservations, as it was the middle of the week, but I think we were lucky to get in! I would recommend calling ahead and getting a reservation just in... More

A great wine selection is backed by a solid meat-focused menu and very friendly and fun service in this small place.

Have now been a number of times to Le Chenin both for lunch and dinner, in smaller and bigger groups. The menu is traditional French bistro, good quality but not for people who are afraid of calories... Portions are generous, well-tasting and the service very friendly wheter you speak french or not..

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
